The forecast for the week shows thunderstorms all week. Is that common because it is so hot. Do they tend to roll threw quick and back to sunny? I am hoping.
Ummm.....there is a reason you have cheap rates in August. Hurricane season. Then again you could've researched typical rainfall amounts for late summer Generally when you have a forecast full of rain this time of year, it is a tropical storm. Rain doesn't generally roll thru quick.
Do not look at forecasts for Cancun. It is not a forecast for the beach, it is a forecast for the city. There is a good chance you won't see any rain. And if it does rain, it will not ruin your trip.
If anything you really want to watch forecasts for tropical storms (which can turn into hurricanes)...almost any day you can have a rain shower there but those don't normally last. But if a depression rolls into the area you can have rain for a number of days.
We have done several trips late Aug / early Sep and always checked the forecasted weather...other than a true tropical storm or hurricane the forecast always says rain / thunder showers etc. That seems to be the normal forecast all year round, so take the forecast with a grain of salt.
Don't worry you'll be fine. This time of year always has thunder showers in the forecasts. I use to worry about it but we've been in September and October and it's been fine. As long as there are no hurricanes or tropical storms approaching it will be nothing to worry about
We just got back yesterday, the forecast showed rain/storms almost every day. We never saw one drop of rain in the 7 days we were there.
