So the weather for this weekend doesn't look so great. I've learned not to stress over this because it's very hit or miss. Still, I've never been there when it's raining. What do you do when it rains? Obviously, if it's not pouring down, you can hang in the pool. But my "delicate" wife gets cold. We can always watch football and drink but I pretty much do that anyway. Help me out here....
If its that important to you don't go at the tale end of hurricane season,, go in April or may,, driest and sunniest months of the year, and great crowds
I get that. I'm good either way. Like I said, not gonna sweat it cuz I know we'll have fun either way. Just wondering...
When it rains just cover your drink so the rain doesn't water it down!!! If that isn't what you are looking for go back to the room and watch channel 12 if that doesn't work, don't worry the rain will be over soon. It is usually short lived rain been 15 times and never got chased back to the room unless we wanted to watch TV(channel 12!) Debbie
rain by itself isn't too bad, it is rain and high winds that will cause problems with being outside and in the restaurants. The rain alone is not cold - you just need to be careful around the pool because it can get really slippery in the rain, especially after many margaritas! I have the pictures of my bruises that document the danger! I am used to very cold rain in Seattle, so the warm rain is not too bad. Wind with the rain is not your friend there, however!!
I rained pretty good one day when we were there last year and we figured it would be a good time to go to the mall and a few shops and just have a look around.
It always calls for rain and thunder showers in Cancun... Which basically means it rains for 3 mins then clears up for the rest of the day. Windy days suck... rain is nothing..
Is it windy very often? And is it just windy or windy with a storm? We were considering taking our kiteboarding quiver but were told not to bother as the chance of good windy days is minimal in oct/nov. It's expensive and slightly stresfull to drag it with us across the big water with 3 flight connections but if we get there and wind is good we will be gutted for not being able to kitesurf!
I would think that there would be a few kite-surfing rental places in Cancun. With so much emphasis on water sports and all. Ill have a look and see. From what I have heard, Cancun and the Caribbean side of the Yucatan is one of the top destinations for kite-surfing. Here are a few links for you in regards to locations and such. Probably should be able to rent as well i Cancun, that would probably be cheaper than hauling yours across the world too. But maybe Steve would be able to give you some ideas for rentals and whatnot.
