As per the thread below yours (at this moment)...it's titled Rain Everyday?; it has MAYBE rained three times in the last month or two. And they were 10 min showers at the most. It rained at my apt today for less then three min. I timed it cause I had somewhere I needed to be. BUT it is rainy season, so you should anticipate and expect rain every single day. Not a washout, but showers.

We went in June for 6 years usually just quick rains, but one year it rained none stop for 3 of the days we were there. It was crazy, water was running thru the vents into our room. But the people working there said it was the worst rain in over 10 years.

Predictions are just about worthless, but the storm that's out there is not likely to produce more than a day or two of significant rain, if nothing changes.

Would you consider it a great loss if that's what happened?

There will continue to be the occasional, seasonal shower, such as we had just a few minutes ago, in which it rained, hard, for all of ten minutes; then, stopped completely.

Well considering its my adult vacation with just me and my husband and we dont go anywhere without our kiddos...I would have to say yes! A few showers are fine and I can deal with that but a tropical Depression is a different story and thats what our news is saying that it will turn into in a couple days and that when we leave is on Tuesday. :-(

Well, don't get all depressed about tropical depressions: trying to hit Cancun during a "window" in the weather so as to guarantee there will be nothing more than brief showers may be asking more than mother nature will permit, unless your stay is very short, and your air tickets very flexible....

Why stress yourself like that? Just come and enjoy yourself, no matter what the weather! Cancun is the tropics (almost) and with it comes tropical weather patterns.

Doesn't it ever rain where you're from?

This is a great time of year to be here. The days are long, the sunrises/sunsets beautiful.

A couple of days ago, on what should have been the longest day of the year, I went to the sea to watch the sunrise. There were towering thunderclouds with flashes of lightening between them, just enhancing the dramatic view I had: it rained- for five minutes- as this storm system passed overhead.

Relax, come on down, defy the weatherman! You'll be glad you did.

    Alex

Tropical storm, Alex, which is beginning to affect weather in our area, should be out of our hair by late Monday, or early Tuesday, at the latest. (We had two or three very brief showers, yesterday.)

Occasional rains, and storms which pass through, are a normal part of the Caribbean weather pattern. We keep an eye on them, but life goes on.

It's much like having a front come through, where other people live: the weather changes, for a time, then goes back to what it was before.

Thank goodness Alex is gone. Lots of rain Fri and Sat, brief showers yesterday and only a few drops today.
