We have a little problem and hope someone can help. Ruth is flying into Cancun from Denver at 2:01pm on 2/23 via Untied Airlines. I (Jim) will be flying into Cancun from Altanta at 2:50pm via Delta. Since we will not have cell phone coverage, and we have never been to the Cancun Airport before, We need to set-up a meeting place where we can meet each other. Can anybody give me some info about the Airport? Do we all go thru the same customs line? Is the a bar or resturant I can meet her at? Thanks Jim
You should both arrive at the same terminal. However, from what I can remember, there are no bars or restaurants in the arrival section of the airport...they are all in the departure area. Jim, since you arrive 50 minutes after her, that should be plenty of time for her to get through customs, and meet you at the arrival area when she gets there. Here is a link to a map of the airport...maybe you can use it to pinpoint a spot to meet if she can't make it to meet you when you arrive.
OUTSIDE of the arrival Terminal, there is a little grass hut bar (you can get a drink; but no place to sit), it's just outside and to the right;you can meet there. It will get you outside of the Terminal and away from all of the "timeshare fleas"! Have a great trip.
we met up with friend before (so we wouldnt have to lug them around)we collected our bags at the duty free store right next to baggage claim.
Once you get past the timeshare people and are outside you will be in the middle of a cirlcle of "shuttle people" waiting for people who booked transportation. To the left of you is a bar that has outdoor and indoor seating. It is on your left immediately outside.
We met my brother and sister in law in the terminal. that way we didnt have to deal with time share people at all until we left. Just have her get her bags and wait for you at the baggage claim. then leave through customs together and get your transportation.
