Ok stupid question ... How's the water in Cancun? More importantly .... hows the water at Temptation .... Can I drink it from the tap? Or do I have to worry about Montezumas revenge everytime I have ice in a drink ....
Temptation has it's own in house water purification system. You can drink it but I probably wouldn't recommend drinking pints of it. Fine for teeth brushing and sips. Drinks at TTR are served with purified ice, outside the resort the secret is to check the ice cube has a hole through the middle, then you know it is purified. 99% of places will serve purified ice. But you shouldn't drink direct from the tap outside the hotel. There are lots of water stations situated around the hotel, rather than keep buying overpriced bottled water from the gift shop reuse a few water bottles and refill them for free at the water stations in the restaurants.
The ice at Temptation is absolutely purified. We must have had over a dozen Miami Vice's one morning and I can promise you it's not the ice you have to worry about. Also, I wouldn't pour myself a glass of water out of your bathroom sink to drink, not because it is unsafe, it just tastes like crap, completely safe to drink though. When we need to chug water, we use the bottled stuff.
When we were there last year they always put a new 1.5 litre bottle of water in our room every day in addition to beer, pop and vegetable juice which is great for hangovers!
