I'm just about done with the stains. Any ideas for obtaining Calgon or something like it? I'm sure I CAN'T be the ONLY one looking for a Calgon-like solution. I don't care about the pipes - just the clothes. I've tried vinegar and that ain't cutting it.

I was thinking of heading to a pool supply store but figured I'd tap the collective brain first.

I've almost given up on the stains as well. Oxy Stain Remover is the best thing so far, as long as you don't leave it on too long (it can remove color as well as stains). I have also found Method Baby Clothing Detergent (at Soriana, in a pink bottle) works.

I have good luck with VEL Rosita liquid laundry detergent which is available at Walmart and Sam's. For difficult stains, a bar of Palmolive soap rubbed directly on the offending spot before washing does wonders.

We've been bringing the two back to the States for close to 20 years as well as now using it here.

My Mum even puts the two on her Christmas list.

I am pretty sure Vel Rosita is also available at City Club.

Depends on the type of stain. For protein stains anything with peroxide in it usually works well, but may require long soaking.
