Just signed up for the Boobs Cruise on March 4 and we are very excited to go! We were just curious about the waves during the cruise... are there big waves or is the water relatively calm? One of the people in our group doesn't handle well with big waves, so we just wanted to know if we should bring the Dramamine!
It all depends on the daily weather conditions. But usually, the waves are not very big, unless there is a storm brewing.
I did the cruise in late November, and it was smooth sailing on the way to the island, but on the way back the boat bobs up and down over the swells which could make a sensitive stomach queasy. I took an all-day nausea medication in the morning. I suggest bringing some anti-nausea medicine on the boat, as most don't last all day. I've heard that it can be quite rough some days, but you won't know what you're dealing with until the morning of the cruise.
We have been on three cruises. It's been from 5' swells to callm water. That being said they have all been incredibily memorable times, but!!!!!!! My wife (korri) sometimes has problems with the rough water. Then she agreed to take something before we got on the boat (dramamine or something similar). And then the memorable (good) times started. So what i am saying is if you think you might have a problem take something and enjoy the trip. It will be something you will want to remember!
Take anti nausea medication before you leave, ounce you get sick its too late. Take a couple of red bulls or energy drinks to contour act the drowsiness effect, and you all set for the day of your life .
Try Bonine, it is like Dramamine but without the drowniness. Most places carry it next to the Dramamine. My wife spent years being tired on trips from Dramamine, she loves Bonine.
It was pretty calm up until about 3:30pm, on the way back it got choppy but not too bad it just depends on the wind.
