Yesterday was the worst experience I could ever imagine. My husband and I decided to spend our anniversary weekend at Temptation resort in Cancun. We came down on Saturday, spent most of our time relaxing in the pool and partying at the club area. Everything was great, until it wasn’t. We went on the Boobs Cruise, I mixed my alcohol, I got motion sick, I fell down, I was a mess. My husband got me back to our room in the resort where I spend the next couple hours recovering. While he was downstairs, an employee of Temptation resort came into the room where I was laying on the bed, recovering. The employee tried to get me to have sex with him. I refused him over and over until he finally left the room. I text my husband what had happened and he rushed back up to the room, at which point I’m hysterically crying and in shock. We went downstairs to the lobby to confront the staff at which point my husband flipped his lid. He punched one of the guys and was arrested. I grabbed my things and went to the police station to get him out and to file a report against the staff member who came into my room. The police were of corse not helpful, I got my husband out with a bribe and there was nothing they could do about what happened to me. We called the U.S. Embassy next. The woman was so helpful, she filed a report, gave me resources for trying to deal with this process, and told me what my rights are in regards to the hotel (where we had one more night to stay) how they have to either change me to another room for the night with an additional lock or reimburse my night and arrange for a new hotel for the remainder of my stay. When we went back to the hotel, the “manager” of the front desk told me that I was lying, that they have a written statement saying there was another couple in our room with us the whole time (false) they said the video of our floor didn’t show anything, we asked to see the video, they refused, I called the embassy again to have her speak to the “manager” she told him that he had to make me feel safe by switching the room or making accommodations at another hotel. He promptly returned the phone, asked us to collect our belongings because we were no longer welcome at the hotel, as we sit there in total shock they called the police again. I called the embassy again. She said that the manager told her the police were supposed to be there to “make me feel safe” then the “manager” said they were there for my husband. We collected our belongings and asked for a new hotel, and let them know we will be filing a suit against the hotel because of the staff member who came into my room while I was sleeping and tried to have sex with me. The hotel manager said we had to leave or they would arrest us, we were not doing anything to be arrested for.

Needless to say, we will never return to Temptation or any of their family of hotels. After all of this, we are at another resort where I spent the night afraid that someone was going to come into our room, I was up all night scared. I’m traumatized from this situation, and in total shock from the behavior of the staff at TTR.

Be careful ladies, if you go on vacation please don’t go anywhere by yourself. If my husband had been in the room, none of this would have happened. I keep trying to go over it in my head, what could I have done differently, how could I have prevented all this, should I have not said anything? How am I going to not be scared?

Holy moly! Other than the commonly experienced booze mixing syndrome and occasional boating motion sickness, have never heard of another account like this ... staff member problem, Embassy, police bribing, etc. Sounds like a made for TV mini series or Law & Order SVU episode. Surprised none of the regulars have commented/weighed in. A troubling story to say the least... three sides to every story?

Nobody else has heard anything about this?

I mean... any other corroboration to this story coming out of TTR/Cancun anywhere? Any news article? Anything?

    Something smells ...

This was posted today, and today is Wednesday of the holiday week... so we ought to start hearing a ton of people about this by Saturday! This might go ugly for them.... Lots of new people at TTR, lots of new staff, lots of new guests...

    Go ugly for whom?
    TTR?
Sorry but some of the story seems to be missing some details.
Like who was the alleged employee or his job function?
    Who did the husband hit?

She also posted this experience on the Facebook page. I’m so sorry this happened to you. It is very unfortunate.

Yes indeed unfortunate even if it did not happen.
    Much worse if it did.
But either way TTR and us loyal members do not need the microscope shined on us now.
Heck, there are enough changes since the rebrand/reno already.
Ars we all going to be asdigned our own personal security guards?
    What is fun about that?
And where willthis lead to, especially with the Socialist win???

Maybe it's the Texas-like heat spell we're having up here in Toronto, but I am really unclear what you're saying and/or asking? For clarity, would you mind restating and elaborating on each of your points?

Sure but like you said it is freakin' hot in South Texas and God I hope not in Toronto...talk about Global warming!!!
I think this is what I meant at the time of post but that part of my brain may have melted.

I am not commenting on if it did or did not happen in the way the post stated.
It appeared the lady was just trying to get something/a warning out to others and it is a tragic story as she reported.
As we all know there are always many sides to any situation/story.
They were all rhetorical questions...meaning I was not expecting an answer but potentially more discussion.

    1) The "bad" press is not good for TTR if it actually did or did not happen.
    2) If it did actually happen then it is tragic...no one and none of us need to be worrying about this at home or when on vacation.
    3) The microscope of bad press is not good for TTR and certainly not good for those of us whom like some shenanigans as many go because of the like minded people.
    4) The rebrand/reno and the changes for a younger and much more mild mannered crowd has many upset or at least concerned.
    5) Are things going to be tightened up or are they so bad each couple will have or needs their own security guard. (this was more a statement and not a question...sorry).
    6) And if things are tightened up so much with extra security...what is the fun in that. (again more a statement and not a real question).
    7) The comment (again not a question to anyone) on the change in governmental leadership is more about what TTR was, and will become based on ownership relationship with current government in power. Might be with new leadership party elected the bad press may lead to tighter restrictions, etc.

If this missed the point PM me so we do not bother others.
    Paul
