A taxi would be the quickest but the bus would be the cheapest...we took the bus once (from Temptations though, so it was a bit closer) and it really didnt take that long, maybe 10 minutes..and yes they sell all kinds of liquor there.

    Mecca, for Americans

And, after you get through paying the obligatory pilgrimage to Walmart, you can also have a look in that very fine beverage store directly across the street, called, "Europa".

    Enjoy!

La Europea actually. In the big 4 story building and that is my source for booze except beer. Rums are in the back left corner as you enter, and tequilas just to the right of the rums, here called Ron's but pronounced with a long O, as in "oh".

The bus you want is the R-2. It's a hike from your hotel, about 20 km (12 miles) but the bus is cheap. A taxi would be really costly by local standards, maybe $15-$20 US each way, unless you can look and act preferably Mexican, but Latinos at a minimum, or you can negotiate like Trump.

The bus drops you off a block north of Walmart and you walk just left of the Plaza Hollywood, (La Europea bldg) to get there.

The bus stop, still R-2 back to the Hotel Zone, is on the street beside Walmart, outside the Walmart doors, hang a left, walk past all the taxis to the street, walk 10 yards or so on the sidewalk to your left and there you go. If you have a lot of purchases, you may want to consider the bus downtown, and a taxi back. If I were a tourist, I would offer $100 pesos and not pay more than $120, both under $10 US. As a local I would offer $80 and pay $100. Or I would take the damn bus and lug on all my plastic bags. Just a hint, but you might want to pack one or two of those canvas type recycle bags that you take to the grocery so you don't use the plastic. They also make good bags to load up your stuff to go down to the beach. But since you are staying at the G.P. you may be too high brow for that kind of thing. But it still makes an easier carry of groceries and booze.
