hiya , we are flying with Virgin from the UK -normally I use thomas cook. in the past we have always got to cancun airport on departure and paid exit tax but I've been told this is included in our virgin ticket ? it does not show it on what I have yet but unsure if it will show on ticket when I check in. now normally I walk in doors and go straight to line to pay tax , do I just walk past this line? how does it work? don't wanna end up paying twice!
    thanks

Hi! We were in the same boat earlier this month. We flew with Thomas Cook last year for our Honeymoon but they were awful so went with Virgin this year, which was amazing! They couldnt do anough for you. To answer you're question though, YES the departure taxes are included in what you paid for you're ticket. There is nobody waiting to take money from you in the Virgin que where as there was with TC. One less thing to have to spend money on! :) Enjoy!

Samie69 We only had tax issues when we came up from Belize in 2012 by boat. You two need to hurry up and get there. I need to play some pool again. See you soon

We bought ours from Gatwick...i think we paid like £29 for 200 Glamour Menthol (the slim cigarettes) and when we run out of them, we went on to Salem in the hotel!

Enjoy you're trip! Even though we have recently come back, i'm super jealous reading you're posts. Lol! Enjoy!

Yeah most of the major airlines have worked out programs to collect and add the departure taxes to the tickets. In some places/islands I have been to some airlines have not worked out that arrangement with certain airlines. People often think they don't have to pay the tax..and don't realize its in their ticket price. Mexico dept. tax is pretty high to...I forgot how much it adds to the price of a ticket...seems like over $30 now at least. I don't even bother to check since you can't do anything about it.
