A friend has a male cat, 5 months old, snow white with blue eyes that he needs to give away to a concerned home. The cat is one of four belonging to a Swedish couple who are returning to Sweden with their three adult cats. They do not want to bring the juvenile with them to Europe. This is very critical as they are leaving Cancun on Monday. Please help. PM me if you are interested or can help.
Can I rant about how so many ex-pats move here, adopt pets, and then decide to leave without them...?
I'll have to count myself out of this one. We are picking up our second cat on Sunday  , this one along with her sisters were destined to be dumped off in the jungle. There are 3 kittens approx one month old, all are pure white blue eyed, all female. We are having one, Jannets Mom is having another and the one left over will be in the Jungle next week, and will be dog food a week later. One is enough for us, I dont really want two, but 3 is out of the question. RG if you do get some response and can find yet another home please let me know.
Sorry, hope you dont feel I'm highjacking your thread Mixz. Hopefully all cats will find a good home. Some pics of the kittens, one is available (sorry for the poor quality cellphone pics)
I can send an email out about both kits. And we will hope for the best. Can't stand how people here, both Mexicans and ex-pats, dump animals. RAP recently rescued a dog that was going to be tied to a tree in the jungle and left to die. A 12 year old boy alerted RAP to the plight of that dog, the boy's friends were told by mom to tie the dog up. The boy did the right thing, RAP rescued that dog and the dog was adopted, the next day, by an American. That dog is now in the US and will live a long life. People can be so horrible...and so good. I just wish the animals didn't have to suffer while we decide if we are monsters or saints.
And by the way there is no quarantine between Mexico and either Canada or the US. So you Canadians and Americans reading this, you COULD EASILY adopt one of these kitties! RAP can help with all the airport/kennel/health certificates. It's really easy to move animals out of Mexico!
RG it is sad how some animals are treated. Here, in my area anyway, with all the foreclosures a lot of pets are being dumped off at shelters and left in the homes they leave. There is even a new pet food bank in my town. Another horrible story, I work with a Land Surveyor and once in the woods off a low traffic gravel road I found a leash, collar and skeleton tied to a tree in the middle of know where  that was years ago but am still bothered by it. What you and RAP are doing is heartwarming.
RG I PM'd you. If things don't work out as planned then I'm going to have to try the Mexican adoption next. I'll keep ya posted.
I'm trying to get the people to send me some pix. I'll post them as soon as I get them. We're going to take the cat in if a home isn't found by Sunday. I'm certain our 3 will not accept a new cat, but we'll find a way to house it until we can get it a home. Meanwhile, fellow board members and Cancunensas, lease, please help us out.
