Hello everyone, first timers arriving 01 Jul for 10 days. It looks like there is a real community feel to this place and we are very excited to come out and meet some interesting and fun people.

Jenna is a vegetarian and I was wondering if anyone could let us know what the selection is like for veggies in the resort?

    Thank you!

I was about to ask the same question:) I am also a vegetarian. But I've decided that I can live on drinks and fries for 10 days If I have to:)

Californiagirl is correct, they really have a pretty decent selection of fruits and veggies especially if you go to Margarita's or the buffet. They have a great fruit selection and we always notice that they seem to what we call the real food that we don't see too often in the states. The grapes have seeds in them, the green olives have pits in them, etc. These old fashioned varieties always have great flavor.

Plenty of salad supplies, veggies, fruits, pastas, potatoes, rice etc.

You can get eggs/omelets in the morning at breakfast. Yogurt etc too.

The biggest issue is finding major sources of protein at lunch/dinner. You will have no problem finding food and main courses for vegetarians but you may want to bring a protein bar or two to balance your nutrition out a bit.

Just got to reading these, thank you so much for taking the time to answer. She is used to having a limited choice here in the UK so I'm sure she will be well catered for.

My wife and I are both vegetarians and I will honestly tell you it is a little hard eating at TTR. Eat a heavy breakfast because for lunch and dinner you might end up eating soups (sometimes), fruits, steamed veggies, and bread. They usually have mac n cheese, pasta with tomato sauce and/or butter sauce (not very tasty). We got really creative with all the veggie options at the buffet (nachos). If possible, the restaurants will try their best to accommodate you guys.

Italian and the Asian restaurant can make you guys a good meal without meat. The other place also has pizzas. You just have to give them a heads up. They have good salad options, but there is so much of greens you can eat. We got super tired of eating the same thing so we ended up going to downtown cancun and got tacos and dominos.

Late night at Patty'Os, they have steamed veggies (borrinnng), fries and burgers. You can tell them to make you a burger without the meat. Essentially its bread, lettuce, tomato, onion and cheese sandwich. You guys will get more creative with the options available there. ENJOY!!
