Someone just posted on a TTR page we belong to that the governor of Quintana Roo just declared that a vaccination card or negative antigen test is required for restaurants, malls and hotels. Can anyone here confirm this? TIA

    It's true:
Proof of Vaccination or Negative COVID Tests to be Required for Hotel, Restaurant, Shopping Malls

Luckily TTR has antigen tests on-site, and they're fast. My guess is they knew this was a potential.

I'm curious what they'll consider as proof of vaccination. In Canada this can be a process to get quick access to medical records, depending on your province. I've told our group to make sure they've all signed up for access to their health records AND be fully vaccinated at least a month out.

    That’s what he said.

So far no establishment (as far as I know) has formally announced they will be requiring it.

But probably best to bring your vaccination certificate just in case. Failing that, Antigen tests are fast, widely available and cheap. Just get one done every 3 days and you're good for anything, vaccinated or not.

We have our vaccine cards (proof of vaccination) but we were hoping to not have to bring it (at risk of losing it) Wondering if we can show them a photo of it.

That’s what I’m hoping. When I got mine the lady told me to take a picture of it in case I lost it. I probably have already.

Not sure about Ohio, but in our area you can bring your card to any Office Max/Depot and they will make a copy and laminate for free. At least they were for a while.
I'm sure Staples would do something similar. We both got ours done so we could travel with a card without worry.

We are in Manitoba and they have issued us digital cards as well as one that is plastic like a credit card. Super easy. And we have tk have it to show customs upon returning to Canada. Just keep it with your passport.

A few days later and there are a few restaurants in Playa del Carmen that have signs outside their premises requiring this. None so far in Cancun as far as I know.

It's become clearer that what the Governor said was a suggestion, not a requirement.

We all know what (most) businesses will do with 'suggestions' that decrease their customer numbers.
