First of all.....we love the USA! After a week plus in Cancun.........at Temptation.......where we were treated wonderfully by every single staff person at the resort (except for the prick at check-in)......and the guests.......but most importantly the resort staff........then the folks at USA Transfers.......even the folks at the Cancun airport! Everyone smiling everyone extremely courteous and helpful. Then we landed in Charlotte before the second leg of our trip home...........no one smiled......everyone acted as if they were doing us a favor. Poor service. 2 "lost" bags in Charlotte.......never arrived at our final destination. The bagage people at our home airport hardly could be bothered with our "lost" baggage. Welcome to the USA! Welcome home! Gosh we love Temptation and all the wonderful folks we meet and deal with in Cancun! I know.....I know......we paid for the service in Cancun, but the staff at Temptation does give a shit! Not so much in the USA ...........sadly! And finally let me say again that I really love the USA.......but lots of the workers here need to get their act together...IOO. Excuse my rant if it offends you! Peace, Tramp
It's been said a thousand times but I can't stress enough how one of a kind the staff at TTR are.. They are part of the reason we keep coming back. Everybody from the housekeeping staff to the bartenders always have a smile on their face and will bend over backwards to accommodate you. Truly make you feel welcome.
Sorry to hear about the trip home and I hear you about things at home... seems the customer service industry in the US and here at home in Canada are slipping. Some of these customer service people could stand to learn something's from our friends in Mexico. Not to long ago we were in a cab and tried talking to the cabbie, felt like I should have gotten my dental degree cause it was like pulling teeth with that guy.... unlike the drivers we've had in Mexico from USA Transfers they chatted up a storm with us made us feel welcome it was a pleasure and made the trip from the airport to TTR feel all that much shorter.
Agreed that the hotel staff, well the ones that face the public - bartenders, waiters, ents staff, are excellent. However customer service in a lot of areas that tourists don't usually experience but locals do, for the most part, is absolutely appalling.
Steve.....this trip we didn't travel off resort.......so we didn't experience anything but the finest service ever......the staff at Temptation......with the exception of a couple pele at the front desk are the finest anywhere!
Interesting , front staff ( any resort) frequently get bad reviews ,, could it be their the ones, that often don't give us the room we want ,,, when we want,, or bump us ? or have to charge us extra s ??,, all things they can't avoid ?? Just wondering .
ive heard about rude front desk staff, but personally have never had the problem. we have always found them helpful and smiling.
That lack of interest in customer service is becoming prevalent in Canada too unfortunately. I hate to use the "kids these days..." phrase as it makes me sound old but the entitled little bastards feel that anything short of a 6 figure job is below them.
I have always thought the people in Mexico were the most friendly. I've traveled quite a bit in the Caribbean and no where compares to Mexico!
