Hi everyone! Hubby and I will be going to TTR for the first time in August (2-8). We just booked a standard room (deluxe garden), but I'm curious if there's a chance we could get upgraded to ocean view or a jacuzzi room if we ask when we check-in. (not that we plan to stay holed up in the room, but a Jacuzzi - well, I know we would put that to use ) I've read that the resort is typically far from capacity during this time, but I didn't know if that mattered. Also, if "money talks", how much $$ gets you an upgrade...lol? We're so excited to meet new people and hope to form friendships here on CCC before we arrive. No worth the money to upgrade in our opinion, especially for ocean view. Jacuzzi can be useful if it rains, but the better idea is just make friends with someone with a Jacuzzi room and pop over for a dip
I'd say its worth it if your going to use It. Is will be my first trip but I normally book. With them They are nice to relax in before dinner or have some fun Personally I'd rather get my own then makes friends with someone just because they have a jacuzzi But then again that's me I don't like. I don't think they really meant to JUST make friends because someone had a jacuzzi. More like, make friends, one of them is bound to have a jacuzzi - problem solved. Yay!! We never had time to go to our friends' jacuzzi either so definitely wouldn't pay for it, personally.
Costs us $150 to get an Ocean view. Having coffee/breakfast on the balcony every morning is well worth that in our minds.
Sometimes you'll get an ocean view if you as when you check in and it's available. The jacuzzi rooms, unless you get the super big Temptation suites right on the beach are mostly pointless novelty. Really you end up wanting to be in the pool with everyone not alone in your tiny little jacuzzi. They are NOT big full size ones for multiple people. You can cram 4 people in on if you are really really good friends. Also, it's hot outside...a hot tub isn't exactly refreshing when it's hot. We've had em once or twice. Really the best benefit is you are on the first floor and can climb into the room over the balcony/wall to get in your room without having to go into the hallways.
^^^^ This. We had one a few weeks ago and decided we wouldn't if, OK when, we go again for exactly the reasons stated above. Also, the tub takes forever to fill with water so there's a big lag time when you have to come up with something else to do while waiting to get warm and wet.
If you upgrade to a ocean view (like actually have to pay for the upgrade) be sure to ask where the room is first to make sure your upgrade money is properly used. Our cone view sucked and that was a big bummer because I love to sit and watch the sun rise drinking coffee
Ahhh, didn't even think about filling it up...lol. Don't think we'll bother this trip. Maybe we'll get invited to test out someone else's jacuzzi haha!
