I see that April is getting kind of busy so I'm getting a little nervous. I have been to TTR 7 times all with a buddy and single.....LOL

This time I'm bringing my GF and I would like things to be a little more special. Normally I wouldn't worry about the type of room I was in but I don't want to end up facing the parking lot or paty'os

My question is does anyone know who to email at TTR about rooms and upgrades? What kind of prices am I looking at?

Are the upgrades worth it? in the past I have ended up with a room overlooking the quiet pool which was good.

Can't wait for the trip though.....first two weeks of April!.

Upgrading won't necessarily ensure you a better room, as people on a recent thread stated that the premiere members will get priority for those rooms if the resort is full. Do the online express check in from the TTR website 2 weeks in advance of your arrival, and indicate under requests that you want a quiet room (also ask for a king bed room), then reiterate that again at the desk. It won't guarantee you a quiet room, but if you don't like your room, you can ask the porter on the spot to take you to a different one (assuming there are any other rooms available at that time). Or you can go back to the front desk at check out time the next day and ask to be moved.

Last April I got stuck in a super noisy room just outside the Paty-O's grill the first night despite asking for a quiet room. I was moved the next day, no big deal. I think it was the "qualifying room" as I heard from 2 other people later in the trip that they were put there for a night after me lol.

Thanks! We booked through Sunquest and a travel agent and Sunquest told us to do it at the resort as well..... I just thought mayeb there was someone at the resort I could email ahead of time.

I'm not worried as I "usually" don't spend a lot of time in the room however this is the first time at the resort for my GF so I would like to make sure we at least don't get one of the "Dorm" rooms....lol

It's Mexico, so it's always a crap shoot which room you get. All you can do is make the request, hope for the best, and move if you don't like what you get. In 3 trips, I have been given a quiet room as per my request 2 out of 3 times on the first go-around.

BTW, most of the "oceanview" rooms at TTR require you leaning out over your balcony to see the ocean, so not worth the upgrade price. You will hardly ever be in your room at TTR anyway, as the party never stops all day and all night.

I emailed info@originalresorts.com asking for upgrade options. Laura responded with details on drops of love which includes a jucuzzi room ( they are around the quiet pool). Cost was $100 a night. I didn't get a price for just jacuzzi. If they offer $50 a night for jacuzzi in advance I would take it, $100 for drops seems reasonable.

Yes you could still get bumped but you would get your upgrade money back. Seems unlikely they would want to give up the extra revenue.

You might check into the "Drops of Love" package, which is a cheesy name but apparently a sort of nice deal. It upgrades you to the Temptation Suite, I think, which is a pretty nice type of room (Stayed in one a week in April of 12). Two room, big-ass patio right on the beach, no balcony/patio hot tub, but the bathroom's spa/jacuzzi tub is neat-O if you don't have one at home, etc. If you're trying to make a great impression, for Temptation, that's the kind of room to get.

It upgrades you to a Jacuzzi ''Room'' with preference for the suite but not garenteed.,, Personally I like the rooms better , but to each there own.
