It seems there have been an awful lot of UFO related events and shows on lately. Most recently last friday on Larry King Live where Buzz Aldrin admitted we were NOT alone and have been visited. Is all this coverage leading up to some type of disclosure event by the government? Personally, I have no clue. I am an engineer and have done software work at several military instillations. I have been around plenty of top secret aircraft that are now in our skies such as the Raptor, B2, and Stealth Bombers. I personally believe most of what we are seeing in our skies that is odd is our military top secret aircrafts. However, I do believe at some point in time, and possibly currently, we have been visited by ET's that have aided in our scientific research regarding our propulsion systems for aircrafts. After all, if there WAS a downed UFO such as the roswell crash, most certainly our engineers would have back engineered that stuff if it was possible. Anyways, what do you guys and gals think? Very crazy question but there has been a LOT of shows and sightings as of late! What do you think??

The Universe is an awfully big place. I personally don't believe that we are the only beings in it.

I think that there will always be nay-sayers. Even if indisputable proof were to come forward, there will always be somebody saying it is an elaborate hoax.

Along the lines of your thread, I think that the information that NASA is getting back from Mars is pretty interesting. It is beginning to sound as if Mars was once capable of sustaining life.

I agree with Zippy. It would be awful arrogant to think out of all that stuff out there we are the only ones.

Now to Jason's question.. maybe great minds think alike but if you watch the level of sophistication that the shows involving aliens have taken on like the fact that in the beginning they were all monsters that killed us all. Then you have War of the Worlds where the earth took care of us, up through Independence Day where we took care of our selves. Then you add in shows like Star Trek and all it's spin offs that show we can co-exist. Even throw in X-Files. It's like the amount has increased and the overall scariness has decreased because we always seem to prevail. It's like we are being desensitized to the issue and when they feel the time is right they will come out and say, oh BTW... and we won't freak. Had they done that 50 years ago, we would have freaked. Now I think the majority response would be a cautious OK and then.. Cool.. Let’s see...

i think there are a few of them working in this office!

it'd be exceptionally arrogant of us to assume we're the only intelligent life in the universe, and will probably be our downfall! i like to think there is a parallel universe out there somewhere!

Funny how I start this topic and a huge event happens. EX astronaut Edgar Mitchell just admitted a few days ago on a news program that aliens are infact real. Mitchell would of course be "in the know" as he walked on the moon the longest during the Apollo missions and worked on special projects for the governemnt. Interesting read even if you dont believe it......

I was thinking when I first saw this topic that you were posting about this article you linked in this quoted post! So yes, funny you started this thread!

As for what I think, I too think there's no way we're the only ones in the universe. The line from the movie Contact was great: "If it's just us, it seems like an awful waste of space."
