We took a last minute trip to cancun for half business half pleasure. Drove by TTR, it is literally gone. Very strange to see. Just the rooms on either side left. Seeing it in person really was weird, pictures and videos don't do it justice! Lots of billboards showing a new upscale TTR along the fence. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. We have had a really good time going to other places recently, and love the hotel we are at now. I know most will continue to go to TTR regardless if they have to eat bologna sandwiches to pay for it, but we will not. Rather spread out our trips to other places. Not saying we won't go back, but at the prices they sent out to us, won't happen much.
A couple of our trips were to Galveston. But we can drive there, 7hrs, so makes it easier for us. Got a house on the beach once, pretty much alone. Other time just booked hotels on the water. It's more of a jimmy buffet kind of vibe. Staying now at sunset marina now, zero TTR vibe, but amazing rooms (2 king bedrooms) food is crazy good. Only one place we have ever been that had the vibe was cabo TTR. we went to TTR in July and had a great time. Hopefully it works out and it changes for he better and they buy a beach and move it there!
We booked this one for 5 nights at 130 per all inclusive. Galveston rates vary, we' were paying 70-100 per night on beach. Not all inclusive.
I stopped this afternoon on way back from meeting and took a couple pics that I put in our various album.
