Going to TTR first time and we are using a AI plan thru travel agent. Wanted some advise about things not covered by the AI that one would not normally suspect ... do not want a surprise when checking out... I know that they charge for Wifi but not how much ? Any shared experiences would be greatly appreciated ... thanks
Extras like massage, gift shop items, excursions, things like that. Food and drink is included so yoo are good there.
Tip money, any day trips off site, massages are all extra. but all alcohol and food is included except one or two items in reservation only restaurants and certain high end liquors which are for premier members. can pay difference though. wifi is expensive 200 pesos for 24 hours. or weekly rate is available something like $70.00 US. Or walk down beach to a patio bar Where it is free.
if you Don't want to buy a time share do not go on a "tour" when checking in. The secondary desk they send you to after checking in is a time share thing. say you are not interested. they will pressure you abit saying things like free items or tour or discounts on massages, it is trick to get you to meet them for breakfast and liquor you up to try and Sell a time share - premier membership. It will waste 4 hours of your vacation.
The rate for 7 days of WiFi had dropped to $35 in June and was much improved resort-wide. When first signing up, if you are in a location where the signal is strong (like the lobby), a web page will open that will offer it for purchase. After that, you should be able to access from your room or pool area. Don't buy the prepaid cards from the dispensers.
Anything that is not included is clearly marked, some items and wines in the restaurants, spa's and massages. You can have a great trip without spending any extra's. We take $350 for tips for a week and try to hit the little people that work hard for about $6 per day , gardeners, the guys cleaning the beach, bellboys, maids.
