Our timeshare is trying to talk us into switching from interval international, who we have been very happy with, to RCI. One benefit we can see to switching would be being able to use our points for TTR. Can anyone who has used RCI points to stay at TTR tell me about how many points a week in April would be, what the AI fee is, and if you ever had any problems?
I cannot speak on the specifics here, but I have never heard of anyone getting a good deal on the RCI transfer into TTR. And I am a Premier member, and like the program. I havent used interval for 5 years, but it was much more exclusive when i was using both.
There seems to be a lot of complaints on the boards about the RCI points system. It appears a lot of people were screwed over when they changed over to the RCI points system (not everyone). We have the RCI weeks and I can't complain (yet).
We have an RCI weeks membership (not points). With the weeks membership every resort is given a point system (I think Temptation is around 10), so we can use Temptation or stay at another resort that is 10 points per night or less for a week. We signed up at the resort, but I don't think it matters much (other than we can get out of the RCI membership if we want and only stay at TTR). I have seen a lot of people complain about the points system (not everyone). It sounds like RCI changed the points system and it really screwed over SOME people. According to Gowick it sounds like you might be better off using interval. A lot of points members say they can get the same price online at alpharooms.
To add to that, it all depends if interval is still the same strength it was... I think the simple thing here is that multiple times, i know people who "transferred" into TTR through RCI who were paying more for AI, than people who were getting the rooms directly from alpharooms
RCI - just so so We have Weeks and Points plus a membership with TTR. Using RCI is “OK”. RCI is trying to get rid of the “weeks” program for the points. The points program has many restrictions based on where you made your purchase (contract). TTR right now wants to buy our RCI points for some reason. (I think they just want us to go to their resort no place else.) The biggest problem I have with RCI is it takes lots of planning, and many phone calls to get things right. The very first time we used RCI as an exchange into TTR we were treated like “members” for your stay. that was nice. Cal
