Hello, Getting to Cancun soon. Can ya'll recommend a bar that has an authentic Mexican feel to it? Like, with mariachis and stuff. The decor very mexican. That has a mexican show? Thanks Nando
You'd probably enjoy La Parilla downtown on Yaxchillan Avenue. More of a restaurant than a bar though. Also the bars around the bullring often have Mariachis.
Thanks man. I would love to go to a bar that makes me feel like I'm really in Mexico. I have been to cancun before and I felt like i was in Miami somewhere.
Just get out of the Hotel Zone and take the bus downtown. There are all sorts of places that will make you feel you are in Mexico and not FL. That will really make you feel as your in Mexico. We really like going there. Lots of things to eat, drink and shop for. Pericos is another bar not too far from La Parilla. It is kind of a crazy place but fun to see what goes on there. The seats at the bar are horse saddles. Might be a place that makes you feel like being in Mexico. I also like La Parrilla. Food is great and the wandering musicians add to the flavor. This place has lots of things that they make in front of you at your table, such as Cesar Salad, Flambed Steaks and Chicken and Flaming Coffee drinks. Plus the special of the house is meat that you cook yourself on a small grill that they bring to your table.
And to really get off the beaten path, head to the bull ring at night. No bull fights, but there are a a couple of bars there that are full of locals and there are always several bands on (mariachi, norteno, etc).. Won't find tourists there, definitely REAL Mexico.
