I figured since I'm back and feeling very sorry for my hungover self right now, I may as well write a brief trip report. Our normal dates are Thanksgiving to early December, but we decided to squeeze in a short April trip (18 to 24) to see what all the fuss was about. As ever, people are very friendly and the weather was amazing all week, however it's just a tad too hot for us. We didn't socialise as much as we normally would at the pool because we tend to hang out at the swim up bar where it's shady, whereas it seems that the April crowd socialise in the hot tubs. We did meet some very nice folks and were also there with some November repeaters too. Hardly anyone dressed up for theme nights. That was a big difference to what we're used to in November - that group goes off the wall for theme nights! Maybe the heat made a difference, some nights it was crazy hot! With the sun still out at 8pm I struggled to regulate when and how much I was drinking which led to a fair few 'messy' days where I'd be drunk in the day and just carry it on into the evening. We hit it particularly hard on our last few days and I'm suffering for all this partying right now! We were on a referral week, and did the premier talk and tour. It was nice having access to the premier deck at the pool, but in my opinion that's about the only bonus. They couldn't offer us any deal to make it worth it for us, so we'll be going back to the red bands for future visits. As with every other visit, the staff is amazing and nothing is too difficult. They all seem to know and recognise us now. It's good to see Sara 69 back at the sexy pool. She works so hard and seems to have the games down to a fine art now. So what else? The resort was sold out on arrival so our room choice was limited. First off they tried to put us top floor 5000 block and I just said "no way". I asked for a room facing Paty O. We know the rooms and specifically asked for 'facing Paty O', not the road. Sure enough we get to the room and it's above the lobby facing the road. So it's back down to the Premier office to sort this out again. Being on a referral, we noticed no difference in regards to room choice. They had no other choices so we were stuck with that room for the night. It actually turned out working really well so we stuck with it for the week. It was still convenient to get to Paty O but much less noise! I got really sick last trip and suspected the air con was to blame. Yes I know some people say if it bothers you then don't turn it on, but that's not an option when you're as 'fluffy' as I am! I'm pleased to report there were no issues at all this time. I did get some stomach issues but they were self inflicted from overconsumption of alcohol. I did the Lysol trick in the air vents every day and I think it made a huge difference. I think the air cons were struggling with the temperature though as the room always felt a little too hot, and sometimes damp. Our last day right before checking out the air con stopped working completely, and it seemed to not be working in the lobby either. So there was a big swinger group there during our stay. They kept mostly to themselves, and I'll be honest it didn't really cause that much of a problem. They know how to party and looked like they were having a good time. If anything, it was fun to watch. They packed out Paty O every night so the bar got very busy! Thankfully the servers work like crazy around the bar and we never waited long for a drink. It still bugs me that the deck seating at Paty O is 'Premier Only'. Fair enough for new stuff but I don't like when they take something away, like the surf n turf at the seafood place and make it premier only. So all in all it was a nice short break. We had no problem doing 7 days and it was enough time. We were out at the pool most days and up partying to the music until 2am most nights. We did a Boobs Cruise that again was fun but I suffered with the heat. We also had a day where we took the premier boat out with four other couples. It was fun but tiring and the heat was relentless. We had fun, but I doubt we'll be back in April again (sorry guys it's nothing against the April crowd!) I know some people love the weather at this time of year and it was gloriously sunny every day, it's just too much for me. We also dearly missed all of our repeater friends from the Chaos Crew. Some nights dressing up it wasn't the same without the hilarious slapstick outfits. So we'll be back in November for our usual two weeks! November can't come soon enough!
The heat almost ruined my trip last October. I'll take February any day over heat indexes in the 100s.
Good report Trish. Question: With your white band did you not take advantage of the servers running arundthe pool so as to not have to go get your own drink? That's one of the main perqs of the white band while actually at TTR for us....the getting drunk in place, LOL!
Sorry, the heat was too much. Would like to hear more about one group of swingers taking over. We thought this site had the place booked. We tried to book but it was sold out, early. Being from the Midwest, USA, we could use some heat. We are ok with humidity. Thanks for the report.
After a long winter, I am definitely ready for some of this heat you speak of. We had frost again this morning.
It's all a matter of opinion. We thought it was perfect in the day but a little cool after 4:30 PM as the sun got lower in the sky. Never got too hot. One night at PatyO's it got stuffy when one of the fans stopped, but we just had to remove more clothes!
I found this April weather to be just perfect. Other Aprils' and especially September is way more humid..doubt that we will be back in December. We had fun but the pool is too cool for us. My hair held up pretty good at night. There was more participation in themes from the 10th to the 18th of April. I didn't do some nights cause two animal nights, two sports nights, two cowboy nights, two white nights, two red nights. It all gets a little boring and I had other dresses that I wanted to wear. Glad you tried April. it was fun having you both there. It was very hot on the cruise days.
