We arrived on Saturday and it was very windy/rainy. Got to our room and were just afraid to leave because the wind was so bad and it was so slippery I was afraid of mortal injury just trying to walk the halls! Drops of love is a total bait and switch! There is no butler and no room service - really, really, really pissed me off because those were the two reasons we spent the $800 for!! We figured that even if the weather is bad, if we can eat in the room and have a butler to get us drinks, and just hang in the jacuzzi, it is all good. Yeah, not so much! Then when I filled up the tub to run the jacuzzi, a bunch of black shit and brown sludge came out. OMFG! Was really horrified! We ate mediocre dinner at the buffet and went to bed. Then we awoke to massive flooding in our room with a major tropical storm! There was no butler to get me water, and no room service for breakfast other than toast or fruit. Had to venture out in the storm to the buffet, and they were boarding up the hotel and dealing with major flood issues. We spent the morning arguing with guest services about drops of love problems and changing our room due to flooding. We finally got a new room late in the afternoon, and ate at the Italian place. You have to pay for wine that isn't crap, but the food was good. I was upset that my steak was wrapped in bacon, when it didn't say that it was on the menu, and I loathe bacon! We are now in 1102, Temptation suite between the quiet pool and sport pool, the room is nice and the jacuzzi isn't gross, so it is better. No room service seriously freaking blows, and we never would have booked drops of love if they were honest about that (the description clearly says room service for every meal, but that does not exist at TTR). Today te weather is better. The beach is messed up from the storm, but the pool was nice. We may go to coco bongo tonight, and we are glad the Boobs Cruise will most likely be happening! Michael's birthday is tomorrow and I am hoping our experience improves. I just wanted it to be romantic and special, and no butler or room service really ruined our expectations ($800 is too much for a dinner, chocolate candy in the room, massage, and a jacuzzi aromatherapy bath - I wanted room service and a personal butler!) I don't know where any of the cancuncare people are. I will try to post a picture on my profile from my iPhone. They gave me free wifi in the lobby to offset the problems we have had, wish it worked on the room - grr! Find us and make this trip better
Steve - make it happen for us . We did have a nice dinner in the seafood restaurant - best service thus far and tipped accordingly! Waiting to go to coco bongo in the lobby right now!
We are planning on going to Coco Bongos next Mon. We get there on Oct. 22. Where do you sign up? Did it fill up? Cost? How did you get back bus or cab? Was it packed? Any recommendation would be great. Thanks:huh: 1st timers
I'll do my best! Looking outside I see stars in the sky so tomorrow's weather is going to be good. No doubt you'll have had a great night at Coco Bongo by the time you read this. Wednesday on the Boobs Cruise is going to be awesome. Sucks that you had crappy weather for the first few days and also the Drops of love package not being what it should be. Things will get better from here on in!
