Just got home from our second trip to TTR two nights ago. I'm going to attempt a trip report, but how do you capture so much fun in just a few paragraphs? The biggest differences between this trip and our first one was 1) the weather, and 2) the sheer number of fellow Cancuncare people there this time. As for the first, it really makes a big difference to your experience of TTR when the sun is shining all-day, everyday, and not raining at all. For that reason alone (even if it didn't happen to work better with our schedules) I would choose May over February. As to the second, the first time we went there were about 20 Cancuncare people throughout the week, and of that we hung out with a small group of about six folks (plus ourselves) pretty consistently. On that trip we really enjoyed getting to know that small group very well. However, this time around there were dozens and dozens of CC folks and instead of hanging out with just a small handful, we were able to bounce around to lots of different groups and clusters of people. I guess you could say that what we lost in intimacy we gained in variety - though there were a few couples that we did chat with a bit more extensively and really enjoyed getting to know. It was also good to always have someone around you could say hi to or have fun with, no matter what the activity. Before we left for Cancun I actually printed out the portion of Jamie's May Roll Call that was there with us, and tried to go back and review the names of each new CC person I met so that I could keep track of everyone (it's damn hard to remember names after you've been drinking all day by the pool and then meet four new CC couples at once - though it helped that every girl seemed to be named Jen - seriously, at one point there were like four!) That strategy helped a lot with making new friends. Everyone was great, though I do want to give some special shout-outs to a few folks in particular. If you weren't there during our week, this will probably be irrelevant to you and you may want to skip to the next paragraph: Tom & Arielle (tholdren) - we probably spent the most amount of time with y'all and really loved getting to know you. You're great people and I'm glad you guys had a good trip. Thanks for hanging with us! Gary & Jenn (FLHX_HOG) - you were so welcoming to us and so much fun. We were really sad to see you leave half-way through our week. In a weird way, you guys made me homesick for Michigan (where I grew up) - you both just sort of embody all that's good about that state (or maybe it was just that familiar Michigander accent ). Wendy & Steve - really enjoyed chatting with you guys at Paty-O's on those couple of occasions and throughout the week. How come English folks are always so friendly? Brad & Carol (Theoriginalparrothead) - you guys are such good folks and such a cute couple - not to mention one hell of an inspiration with how active and adventurous you are. Thanks for those bottles of the good wine at dinner, and for the great conversation. You've given us yet another reason to make a trip to the Pacific Northwest sometime soon. Eric & Deb (WVDeb/Eric) - y'all were crazy fun and we really enjoyed dancing and getting crazy with you on DJ nights at Paty-O's and especially on the Boobs Cruise. Craig & T - You guys are some of the most fun and inspiring people we've ever met there at TTR. I can't imagine anyone friendlier or as fun-loving as you all. Thanks so much for making us feel welcome, for partying with us, and for sharing your stories. You guys are exactly the kind of people we want to be when we "grow up" Scott & Jen (skiierj) - Congrats on the engagement guys! If y'all come back to TTR for the wedding on the beach, let us know. We'd totally love to be there! Bill & Jen (flstfi04) - you two were just off-the-hook crazy fun. Bill, all I can say is that when you make a promise (to get naked as often as possible), you are definitely a man of your word. And while that wasn't necessarily my cup of tea, you didn't seem to be minding it at all Jen Scott & Becky (Zeus) - fun, friendly, life of the party... what more can I say, except that you're the only folks I know who had the balls to bring your father with you to Temptations. Jamie - Mr. Mayor, thanks for everything you did to bring all the Cancuncare people together and to keep the fun rolling all week long. I want your job someday. Maybe after I've been coming to TTR as long as you have. Even if I didn't mention you by name above (Dale & Cheri, Greg & Heather, Glenn & Bambi, Les & Lynfa, George & Debbie, Chuck & Erin, Dave & Theresa, Zach & Heidi, Tony & Ashley, Kuff & Vix, Kev & Di, Dustin & Emily, Nishi & Tania, Michael & April, Morgan & Kevin, Sid & Mandy, Michelle & Rich, Curtis, Tom, and anyone else whom I've forgotten), we still enoyed meeting you and partying with you. It really is the people that make Temptations so much fun. Except for the very small handful of snooty pretty-people we met who seemed to think (in fact, explicitly said to us) that they were too good looking to associate with people older or lumpier than themselves, everyone else there was so welcoming and friendly. We love that it's a place for all ages, all body-types, and all kinds of personalities. Thanks to everyone we met for helping to make our vacation so great! Anyhow, rather than giving a long play-by-play of the whole week, let me just touch on a few things. First, the room was good, even though they turned the ocean-view that we had requested into a complimentary jacuzzi suite with a view of the Italian restaurant (back in the corner of the Quiet Pool area. They basically gave us that because the Ocean View they had available was above Paty-O's and we were a little concerned about the noise. The free jacuzzi turned out to be more than worth the lack of a view however, plus it was really nice to be on the ground floor and not have to climb any stairs to get back to our rooms whilst drunk in the middle of the night. The entertainment by the pool seems to be about the same as last year, which we still thoroughly enjoyed, though you can kind of tell that Chinos has gotten some flak recently for his insults. He kept qualifying his jabs and pulling his punches a bit the whole time. Not that I minded. I usually enjoy his insult humor, though I don't think it's entirely necessary to make fun of people in order to create the kind of funny, sexy, silly atmosphere that makes the games enjoyable. Of course, anyone should know that if they volunteer for any of the games, they are volunteering to be humiliated and poked fun at. The rest of the staff was great too. Stacey and Jose actually ran the show a number of times, since Chinos wasn't always around, and Amy actually had her very last day there half-way through our week. It was actually fairly astounding to see the change in Amy over a year since our last trip. We were there on her first week, when she seemed very shy and nervous and scared. This week we barely even recognized her she was so confident and friendly and sexy and no-nonsense. It was sad to see her go. Security doesn't seem to have been a problem anymore while we were there, though I'm not sure if that's because they had loosened up, or just because no one our week was trying to get as crazy or rambunctious as previous groups. There weren't any large groups of single guys (a few smaller groups, but they seemed pretty well behaved). There was, however, a very large group (60-70) of single African-American ladies who showed up the last couple of days we were there and literally nearly took over the place. We enjoyed them, since most of them were friendly and seemed to be there to have a good time, though I will say they were very LOUD and very rambunctious at times. Of course that raises all kinds of double standard issues - folks here sometimes complain about large groups of single men at TTR wrecking the vibe, but does the same apply to large groups of single women? I mean, they certainly left their own unique stamp on the place. Anyway... The evening entertainment seems to have improved since our last visit (which was mostly just one fairly boring dance show every night at Nice Shoes). Instead they had a DJ or live band almost every night at Paty-O's, which made it a lot of fun to just get crazy dance there all evening. Often they would also have fire dancers, go-go girls, or other sexy dancers there at Paty-O's at the same time. I like that they did it in that context, since it made it feel less like a sit-down performance, and more like it was just adding to the ambiance of a great party. The Pool Party night was especially great since it was a lot cooler out by the pool than inside at Paty-O's. Yes, you can get in the pool if you so choose, though few did. We did go skinny dipping in the ocean one night though! The lingerie night was also great, lots of very sexy outfits, though there were way too many people and way too few casino tables. Afterwards they kept the dance music playing at Nice Shoes for people who wanted to stay and dance in their lingerie, but, as usual in that venue, it cleared out pretty quick. I was also disappointed at how few people stayed in their underwear after going to Paty-O's and that they didn't have a DJ there that night. That was a bummer, since last year the best part of lingerie night was hanging out and partying in our underwear for the rest of the evening. The biggest highlight of our week was definitely Steve's Boobs Cruise. It was off-the-hook crazy fun. Things got wilder than I ever expected them too. Multiple people got naked, alcohol whip cream came out, my wife was co-winner of the sexy dance contest (during which event my own shorts came down), and, well... I'll leave the rest to your imagination. Steve put together a great time and a great entertainment staff for the cruise - as good as Chinos really, and without the insults! They kept us partying the whole time. Bottom line is that y'all would be crazy not to book a trip on Steve's Boobs Cruise if one is being offered while you're there. It was that much fun. Not much bad to report. The jack-hammering from the new Premiere Club sexy pool bar they're building was annoying at times, since it pretty much lasted from sun-up to sunset, but after a while it wasn't too hard to tune out (except for the poor souls in rooms by Paty-O's who had to hear it every morning and who repeatedly had their power turned off because of the construction.) The drinks were crazy watered down, even when I was ordering the brand-name alcohol. I had the hardest time building up a buzz all week (and I'm not really a hard drinker at home). Eventually I started just ordering straight alcohol. And of course the worst part of a week at Temptation is having to come home, especially when your flights get delayed by five hours because of thunderstorms, and you get home at 2am instead of 9pm Other than that, however, we had a fantastic week and we can't wait to go back. In fact, we're hoping to make mid-May our regular week now. Hopefully we'll see a lot of you back there again next year!
It was great meeting you guys... love the new avatar - nice that you are sharing the stage with that pretty lady that hangs around with you. See you next year... Jamie
Great TR!!!!! Seems like with every trip report security is getting more laxed which is fantastic......Glad you guys had a blast yet again!!!!
Mike and Julie, We had a great time with you guys. If get an interview in this area, be sure to let us know. We would love to see you both again. You guys are part of what makes a vacation to Temptation so much fun.... It's the people you meet and the friends you find that make the resort my favorite place to vacation. See you two next year, if not before!!!
Mike & Julie, it was great to meet you both as well! It's always nice to meet people familiar with your home base! Thank you for the tiny donation of sun block that I used I will be taking youjr advice and next time print out the friends list. I had a hard time recognizing people live an comparing it to the avatar I could barely remember. And how disgusting of the pretty people who quite honestly aren't too pretty with that attitude! I encountered one those for 1.5 minutes after being scrutized and ditched them as quickly as possible. Not classy! Hope to see you both next year! Heather
Awesome trip report!!! Hopefully we can make it back sometime when you guys are there. I have already checking into using my RCI for next time so hopefully we won't have all the room trouble we had this year. If it hadn't been for all the problems we had with the resort there would be no doubt we would make this a yearly thing. btw, the naked cannonballs in the pool, the skinny dipping in the ocean, and the swapping of the suits were all Jen's idea... She already knew I was getting naked on the boat, lol.
Its TR's like this that make it impossible to not stay excited for our first trip to TTR.. thanks for sharing and hurry up September!
