Hi everybody, Just got back from TTR last night after a 6 night stay with my husband of 12 years. I read a lot about the resort on this website and thought I would post my review; it's gonna be a bit long (so bear with me, all you TTR experts! btw I loved meeting all of you!) but informative for all of you first-timers. We usually do cruises and had only been to one other all-inclusive before. I have to admit, before going, I was a little scared and didn't know what to expect when we went (my husband had heard of it, we're not swingers so I was a little hesitant even after reading that it's not just for swingers, what can I say) but OMG what a great time!!! I can't say enough about the awesome atmosphere at TTR. People are so friendly it's unbelievable. :aetsch004: Nobody's judgmental and it's really everything you want to make it. I have to say that I was impressed by the sexy atmosphere....so many beautifully hot people! Lots of eye candy. There's all kinds of people there, all ages (except no kids of course, thank GOD). I thought Chino really loosened people up with the pool games (seriously, he's funny, he cusses a ton and pushes the envelope but he really gets the party going at the pool). By day 2 I was pretty much settled in. We were at the sexy pool all day, everyday, and there's also chairs on the beach which you can almost always find one or two open without saving them early in the day. The beach is great--soft white sand, a little rocky by the edges but no biggie. To get a chair by the sexy pool, get up (or make your husband get up!) at 6am and save one and then go back to bed for like 4 hours--nobody will steal your stuff; we had Kindles laying on chairs, etc, and it was very safe. We met so many great people from everywhere--Canada (hi Rob! and so many others...there's tons of cool Canadians @ TTR), Mexico (Marco and Maria!! Hi!), Great Britain (Rachel and Dave!!! Hi!!), and of course the USA (hey Missouri, KY, Chicago, here's looking at you!) (we are originally from KY and now live in Chicago) We got in on Monday and left Sunday. The pool party was on Saturday (I see a lot of you are wanting to know about that....) and it was awesome...I was worried about it being cold outside due to the breeze but it wasn't (booze helped with that as well.....). Nobody was in the pool when we were there (we left around 2:30am, the music stopped around 1am, we think...it's a little fuzzy:icon_wink. To the ladies who've never been and might be a little hesitant like I was, you've nothing to worry about, I promise. 99% of the men are super respectful and make you feel very sexy without being creepy. The women aren't catty AT ALL, even the ones you think are way hotter than you (you'll see that is all relative there, because everyone feels sexy and hot at TTR), and everyone is so nice. There's a lot of women with tops on, and a lot with tops off, and nobody pressures you. The later in the day it gets, the more the tops come off, but I promise, you'll be fine if you never even consider taking yours off. I was blown away by everybody's elegant clothes and nice nightclub type gear...I was so mad I left a bunch of mine at home! We go to Vegas a lot and I thought the clothes were at least as sexy as what I see there, if not more. So take your hot dresses, girls! You will love it. Also, I was pissed I didn't take sexy lingerie! You'll see all kinds there, so this is your chance to really vamp it up! As for the nightlife, we never left the resort. The only night it wasn't totally rocking at Paty'Os was Thursday...they had a downtempo thing going on that night, not sure what that was about, but anyway.... The rooms were supernice, which I wasn't expecting...sexy red-tiled showers, comfy beds, overall in keeping with the sexy atmosphere of the resort. Also, we're total foodies, and are spoiled by the worldclass Chicago dining, but I have to say, I was pretty impressed with the food at TTR. There's 2 specialty "reservations required" restaurants, an Asian and an Italian (Italian was the best, omg get the beef carpaccio); they take reservations from 10a-12p outside the seafood place. No reservations required, full service options: there are 2, the aforementioned seafood place (get the grouper! and the clam chowder!) and a Tex-Mex place that also has a salad bar and pizzas (not the best pizzas; they're ok, but I'm picky about pizza). The buffet was also suprisingly good....it's open from 7a-12p, 1p-3p, then 6p-10p. Yummy yummy...they'll make you omelets to help your hangover in the morning, as well as chilaquiles (green or red) and other made-to-order dishes, and there's tons of other stuff as well. I'm a salad bar freak and was impressed with that as well. Late night you can get your drunk cheeseburger......there's a grill at Paty'Os. So, all in all, I can't wait to go back! See you all next year......
Wow that's a great trip report! I hope lots of first timers read this n realize there's nothing to worry about. Thank you
Love it! And I agree - all the guys (and girls) make you feel sexy without being creepy. That's exactly what I told my friends!
RnJ, thank you so much for this report! You completely answered all of the questions I had about our first trip, which will be in June. After looking at some of the pictures, I was worried...I'm definitely not a prude, but wondered if a suburban mom would really fit in there. From the way you describe it, though, I can tell I'm going to have the time of my life! Wow...just four months to shop for sexy lingerie...
Hi Roxie! And summerbum, there are tons of suburban moms there--you'll fit right in!. Let me know if you have other questions.....
68 more days....but who is counting? Can't wait and thanks for posting as it will be our first time as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the great report. We are first timers to and not sure about what to expect. It's great hearing about other people's experiences, puts the nerves at ease...lol We leave the end of March and can't wait to get there.
