I always enjoy reading these reports so I will try to be as detailed as possible about our third trip back to Temptations Cancun. My fiancee and I were not going to go on vacation this year because we are trying to save money for our wedding but we just couldn't resist the Temptation to go back to Temptations this year. Our prior two trips were always after XMAS and into New Years. This year it was cheaper to go the week before so we scheduled our trip for Dec 17 through the 23. I am a teacher and had to take a sick day but it saved us each 200 dollars a piece to leave on that Friday rather than Saturday and we gained an extra day. It was a no-brainer. Here is a little back ground info before we left. We live in Ocean City MD but we were spending XMAS in Fayettville NC. Day Before the Trip: The Thursday we were to drive down to Fayettville which usually takes about 6 to 7 hours, my school let out 1 hour early because of snow. Bettina meets me in front of school and I hop in the drivers seat reluctantly. The last time I drove on snow I managed to flip my mountaineer driving to school, so at this point I am in my new 2010 Taurus and have never drivin it on the snow before. Our trip down to NC took us over 10 hours of white knuckle driving for about seven of it. We drove through snow, ice, rain, sleet, and even fog to get our destination. But with a Temptations vacation to be lost at slightest faulter of my car, I drove slow and we made it to Fayettville. After about 3 hours of sleep we kissed our English bulldog goodbye and caught a ride to the airport and we were on our way. Day 1 US Air: Our first layover was Charlotte and it wasnt much of a layover but to our surprise they downsized the plane and bumped Bettina's seat. Luckily, the couple behind us gave up their seats for two $500 vouchers and we were on the plane headed towards cancun. We didnt waste anytime going to our shuttle, we always fly with Expedia and they use BestDay for their shuttle service and they are always prompt and efficient. After two stops at other hotels we were checking in for our third time. One of my best friends and his girlfriend had arrived just prior to us and they were upgrading there room to a view of the sexy pool and that thing called an ocean. Our room was three down from where we got engaged last year. I through on my boarshorts and Bettina put on her bikini, grabbed a bit to eat my Mike and Christine and we were on our way. FunfortCPL had arrived the day before and we found them playing cornhole, they immediately stopped there game and we went to the bar for shots of tequila. After several vodka soda's, shots of cuervo and 100 anos blanco tequila we were right at home. Our friends from last year, Amanda and Brian arrived. We met Kathy and Ernest who were form Poland and they meshed very well with our group of friends from previous years. We did dinner in the buffet because we didnt arrive early enough to sign up for Italian or Asian. That night we ended up going a little late to Nice Shoes for a quick lingerie show and my memory gets a little cloudy after this.... Day 2 I was up early and reserved chairs for our friends I think I got 6 or 8 which I know some people dont like but we actually had a group of 10 by this time and we always used them. The second day was a little chilly and windy so pool time was limited but I represented the US in the beer chugging competition and brought home the title and a good buzz. Later that day our friends from the last two years, Pat and Becky arrived and then the shots started flowing again. I think we were out till almost sunset drinking with our group of friends. This day we also met Ranger and SDCouple from the website and had a good time. We napped for a while and then had dinner at the asian restaurant with Mike and Christine. Everything was very good, I love the hot dipping sauce with the spring rolls. We did some dancing and some drinking this night at Patio Lounge with our large group Day 3 Day was a hot sunny day and we all just sat around and baked in the pool. Mike and I played some water basketball and our team dominated. This was another day filled with lemon drops and tequila. Pat won the Mr. Temptations contest after scoring the most tops and bottoms collected and he also won darts. Brian lost at darts and had to jump in the water wearing a thong and roll in the sand, then he was floured and egged, hystarical!! Becky got egged as well for missing the board. Dont lose if you play darts. We did dinner at the Italian restaurant with Pat and Becky and it was awesome. I had the filet and ravioli, beef carpaccio for an appetizer and finished up with a spanish coffee that was amazing. Christine and Mike came over and I noticed she was a little buzzed. Our group of ten people ended up doing toga night to honor Brian, because last year he got naked and wouldnt put his clothes back on so we wrapped him up in sheet and brough him Patio lounge. Toga night was awesome, we took over Nice Shoes and got some great pics that I will try to upload this weekend. Christine and Mike even wore makeshift togas and partied it up. All the guys and girls took turns on the stripper pole. It was hilarious. It will certainly be a tradition each year, we had people asking what they had to do to be part of our group. Then we all tried to skinny dip but ten of us got caught, haha. Day 4 Day four was pretty mellow, we got a lot of sun and did our usual rounds of tequila and lemon drops. Had ten people for dinner at bellevista but we had to split into two tables but it was still very good. The canneloni was excellent and I bought a bottle of wine for each table so they could try one of our favorite cabernets, J Lohr. Everybody really enjoyed the wine, Mike and Christine bought another bottle for our table. After dinner we caught the fire show. Really cool but dont stand in front of the guy when he spits fire, the alcohol got in my eyes and stung the hell out of me. Coco bongos was great again until we lost Brian. Bettina had that awesome revealing shirt on and they took her up on stage and she was dancing with the Cocobongos show girls. Then they grabbed her again and a couple other ladies from our group and they went up on stage to. It was good night after we found Brian and had a couple late night cheeseburgers. Day 5: This was the highlight of the trip. We met all met by the pool and said good bye to Kathy and Ernest. Then we all boarded the temptations boat and went for a 4 hour cruise. The tequila was flowing, the tops were falling, and even everyones bottoms once we went swimming. The water by Isla Mujeres was clearer than the water at the pool. It was a fantastic trip, thanks Ben for organizing it. If only I could post some of those pictures, lol. That night we had dinner by ourselves at the Asian restaurant and everything was good once again. We took it easy this night because it we didnt want to be hungover on our last day. Day 6: LAST DAY This is when reality started to sink back in and I had to face the fact that we had to leave the resort at 430am the next moring. We said good bye to Ben and Brandi. We had a few drinks again but didnt start anything heavy today. We polished off some Don Julio that Ben had left us and Pat was talked into doing a prairie fire shot (Tabaso and Cuervo). The face he made was priceless. For dinner we left the resort and went to LaHabichuela Sunset. Dinner was great we had seafood ceviche, Cream of Habichuela soup, Grilled grouper, and Ribeye. The bus ride was less than a dollar per person and they dont waste anytime flying down the highway. Afterwards we went to the stripper show and said good bye to Pat-n-Becky, Brian-n-Amanda, and Mike-n-Christine. There is something about Temptations that takes people outside their comfort zone but it is for the better. Its never pushy or uncomfortable in my experience, it has only been filled with great memories, lasting friendships, and wild times. We will be taking a trip to Indiana this year to see 6 of our friends without a doubt. I want to thank Ben, Brandi, Pat, Becky, Mike, Christine, Brian, Amanda, Kathy, and Ernest for an amazing trip that I hope all the readers have the pleasure of experiencing. We could not imagine being with a better group of people. Tip your maids and bartenders. Dec 2011 watch out...the togas will return.
This place is always fun...if you are not afraid to let loose then you are going to have a great trip.
Ohh, we have no problem at all letting loose when we are out of town! Guess others that are there Jan 20-24th might find out!
