Well, we recently returned from a helluva fun week at TTR Cancun.
We had a pretty good idea of what to expect as we have been to both Desires (Cabo and Cancun) and now both TTRs, respectively.
We’re going to sum up our take on the place. It was our first time there; please don’t bash us for our opinion. (!)
There is some critique and lots of high praise.

We aren't high maintenance and those who met us know we can party with the best of 'em. :aktion033:

The resort overall is beautiful and well kept. Our room was beautiful and very clean. The beach area is also beautiful and well kept; it’s obvious that the staff takes great pride.
    Grounds “10”
The desk staff was very helpful and courteous. We requested a room change due to the noisy highway and they cheerfully obliged the following morning. We only wish we knew about the clan of drunken rednecks all around our “new” room. But…that’s another story. :/
    Lobby staff “10”
We did the time-share gig on this trip for the cheap booking price and it was very worth the two hours of misery. We paid about half what most paid for their trip after talking to many couples. The t/s guy was a real pita after two hours. I finally pulled out the stopwatch and told him no mas. He didn’t go quietly.

Many rooms in the resort have entrances in the stairwells. It is a horrible design.
We know the obligatory “sleep when yer dead” speak, but we actually like to cop a few hours of slumber nightly in spite of our craziness. The room/stairway design make it about impossible for many of the rooms. We could hear every word of every conversation in the room across from us. The stairways are echo chambers for every high heel and conversation. There is probably nothing that can be done about it other than to request the fifth floor or other quieter rooms that we are unaware of.

The pools were gorgeous…but cold. Even the “heated” pool was cold. We love to swim so that was disappointing. The hot tubs were also a bit of a disappointment in that they aren’t “hot” tubs at all, maybe “warmer” tubs? After TTR Cabo or Cancun Desire it is tough to head to TTR knowing that there is no late night hot tub. It felt like a large, relaxing portion of the night was simply not there.
    Pools & “hot tubs” “5”
We did swim in the ocean and it was gorgeous. There were jellyfish, we saw several dozen, but no worries. The beach crowd was great!
    Beach “10”
The entertainment was great. Chinos is hilarious although arguably disgusting sometimes. He took some getting used to. It is part of his appeal. The guy is incredibly kind and takes time to talk with anyone he encounters.
    Entertainment staff “9.5”
The “chair wars” were somewhat ridiculous. People started reserving sexy pool chairs for the next day at 9 pm. Someone complained and staff starting cracking down.
We frequented the beach and therefore had no battles, lol.

The food was fabulous, overall we’d give it a “9”. The Asian restaurant was a perfect “10”... absolutely fabulous in every way. The grilled tuna steak is wonderful. Try the tempura ice cream too. Waiter Juan is great.
Breakfast and lunch restaurants are fantastic. “10”
All of the wait staff work so hard.

The resort is large in comparison to Desire Cancun and gigantic in comparison with TTR Cabo. There are nights one has to wait up to an hour for a table at a restaurant. It’s probably a good idea to book reservations at the Italian and Asian when you arrive. They are worth the reservation!

Massages were relaxing and wonderful. We opted for the 25 minute, should have done the 50 minute. “9”
Work out facility was nice, not huge. It’s a good place to stretch. “8.5”

The DJ and music were perfecto. Kudos for the great music and great atmosphere. “10” for sure.
Music ended early! 1 a.m seemed early to us. It was bit odd.

The bar staff works their asses off. We give them a “10” for sure. Tip them well. Drink quality was good. “9”.

Paty O’s bar was great. It’s a great place to gab & late-night party.
The late night food was yummy with burgers, dogs and fries.
The circa 1970 chrome chairs at Paty O’s get a “0”, they are back breakers…. definitely use the side couches.

We didn’t do the booze cruise, but from everything we heard it was >epic<. Sounds like it is a killer gig worth every penny. Next time!

Orange wristbands were virtually nonexistent. We wore ours and passed them on when we left. For all of the X, XX, XXX hype, they weren’t worth the five bucks.

So…overall, great resort! We met some fabulous people and made some great friendships. Great party place, but as expected just don’t expect much sleep.
Personally we like Cancun Desire better with its swim-up hot tub, much smaller size and sexier vibe. If cost is the same, it is Desire for us.

And….our overall favorite remains quaint, beautiful, Desire Cabo! Can’t wait for the May takeover!

Glad to see you guys had a great time. I avoid the pool chair problem by either being in the pool or at the pool bar myself. Save the chairs for the ladies who look good in them!

Great honest trip report. i can't see anyone "bashing" you or having any problem with you report. We prefer honesty in lieu of just saying what people think we might wanna hear. Great job

I agree honest is what we want to hear... It's not for everyone! We love it and don't mind hearing what other people have to say.

Great report. Thanks. Been in feb twice. Both times cold and freezing cold pool temps. Won't be back in feb for that reason. April or may next year for us!

Great honest trip report! The grilled tuna is awesome! And I have to agree with you about the chairs at PatyO's. You know some where on here was said that the pool was heated or as least the sexy pool. I don't believe it is. Thanks again for your great report.:clappyinghappy:

Thanks for the report. We arrive there on the 4th of March and if my trip is 80 percent as good as yours I will be 100 percent satisfied. We added Steve's Boobs Cruise to ours and a zipline excursion too. We do have to sit through the timeshare presentation as part of our booking but maybe we won't regret that. Thanks again.

Excellent trip report. I agree about the hallways being loud. That's one of the reasons I prefer the top floor.
