Well, it's taken me a while to get round to writing this. I think it's taken this long to recover! But I just wanted to share our experiences, as well as say - we loved it, and we can't wait to come back. This is just to let people know what worked and what didn't work for us (though nearly all of it worked!). We loved the camaraderie that the Forum had established before we got there - although I have to thank Tony for that, as I only registered when we got back. We loved the sexy pool, and made great friends while chatting there. Advice given on the Forum about reserving loungers with t-shirts, and taking bubba mugs was great. Really helpful. We loved the activities around the pool, which were hilarious, though we held fire from entering this year! We were amazed by the staff - they work so hard, and are so happy and friendly - we don't get that here in the UK. The rooms were lovely, though we couldn't work out why some rooms had rugs, and some didn't! And the fridges were restocked daily, though we mostly drank by the pool, and didn't need more when we were in our room. The food was excellent, especially in the bookable restaurants, and the fact that you could get food pretty much 24/7 was amazing. We spent most evenings in Paty O's, which was great fun, though I was surprised that more people didn't do the Forum theme nights - I was dressed up on my own one night! I did like the fact that all the ladies did dress up every evening, though how they dance in those heels I'll never know! Went down to Nice Shoes, but I must admit didn't really like it down there very much, which was a shame as we missed the shows. It felt cramped, hot, stuffy and you had to be down there so early to get a seat. But partying in Paty O's made up for that. We did a few trips. Boobs Cruise is a must! We had a brilliant time, and only didn't go twice due to deterioration in the weather. Swimming with dolphins, manatees and sea lions on Isla Mujeres - amazing day. Expensive, but worth it. They did try to muck us about with the time we booked, but it was all sorted amicably. Chichen Itza was worth seeing, but we felt like we got a bit ripped off by the frequent demands for tips, and it wasn't as all inclusive as advertised. This was booked at the hotel. But still worth going, and the stop at a cenote was much need after the heat inland. For Brits going out - don't bother taking sun tan cream out with you. We took a variety of factors, and ended up using all of our high factor, and bringing the lower factors home. We bought more out there in the hotel, and it was cheaper than in the UK. Use factor 30 frequently to stop you burning then some Aloe gel in the evening to moisturise your skin. Overall, we had the best holiday I think we have ever had. Thanks especially to Sharken for becoming true friends in a very short period of time. We miss you. And thanks also to Jamie for his magic hands - and being the reason I have become MMB (Mayor's Massage Babe) Trychaser. See you all again next year. Debs :flash:
great TR!!! glad you guys had fun!! i'm amazed suntan lotion is more expensive in the UK than MX! it's a lot cheaper in the US than MX. i'll have to buy a bunch and sell it to the Brit's in May for a small profit :icon_lol:
Glad I could do my part.... even though I got arrested for it later. It was a pleasure meeting you both and that's from Chris too! See you next year! Jamie
