Travel plans when Temptations goes down for construction?

Last week was our first trip to Temptations, and we loved it, only to learn that later this year it would be torn down and rebuilt (down for 8, 9 months?). Is there anywhere similar in atmosphere and general awesomeness that we found at Temptations to check out while they're closed for construction?

 

And it doesn't necessarily have to be in the Cancun area.

Personally I get out and explore.

Playa del Carmen is fun place. Puerto Vallarta and Cabo are nice places also if you want to stay in Mexico. Tulum area is much more laid back but enjoyable in a different way. Staying on Isla can be a fun time also(try using Airbnb).


Maybe go more off the beaten path and try places like Rotan, Honduras or Ambergris Keye or Placinea in Belize. The later two you can find some good rates on Airbnb especially if you go with another couple or two.

Of course you got the whole Caribbean to explore to.

Whatever you choose to do get out and explore as you won't feel like your missing anything going on at the pool like you do at Temptations. Your not going to find a place like Temptations so I won't even try because chances are you'll be disappointed if your expecting it.

 

Maybe just gather your group and take over another hotel. GP is F*cked, we're coming!

 

Temptation been in the end of May and loved the atmosphere of the place ... we are hoping to return ... ( translated)
