Never used a travel agent. How much do they add to the cost, and is it worth it as apposed to just booking on line yourself. It is nice to deal with a real person, just wondering what the difference is.
I know that back in the day a travel agent was worth using, but now with the internet I'm not too sure if it is necessary. But, this is just our perspective - however, I do think it may be different if you have used a travel agent for all your bookings/years and it may be a tad more safe - you pay them - they use company CC .... 1x we booked with fareconnect a package price, but, mostly we book hotel and flight separate because it is cheaper then going with a charter company. We believe that whatever they find you can find similarly on the net - it is always best to do your own research with prices and then see a travel agent ... you possibly may get a better deal from them because they want your business. Hope this helps somewhat!!
:umbrella1: I am a travel agent and I book mostly cruises. There are over 24 cruiselines out there and my goal is to put you on the right one to fit your personality. We also eliminate the headache of vacation planning. The people that I book for TTR are folks who have no knowledge of TTR or Cancun for that matter. I will not send a couple to TTR if they want a relaxing laid back vacation. That being said if you already are sold on TTR you might as well book it yourself. We as agents and agencies pretty much get the same prices as you do. If we sell you the vacation, the resort has to give us commission if you book the vacation from the resort they get to keep the commission. Hope that this helps.:aetsch004:
That helps. So basically if I know what I want, and have done the research then online is fine. It's how we always did Disney anyway. thanks
Yes Sir...If you did Disney with no consternation you can do TTR...So far I think Alpha rooms has the best deals on rooms....Air Fare is a pain in the buns.
I have always booked TTR online this is our 6th trip and have used a few different sites based on price and reputation. I have a client that is a travel agent and have tried the last two years to give her the business after I found what I was looking for anyways. It never seemed to work out and ended up booking it myself and felt like I wasted her time. Some people just prefer to book with someone face to face. Most travel agencies today do price matching so if you aren't comfortable booking online find what you are looking for and then contact your local agent.
I always use my agent. He gives me the same price the sites online and sometimes better (he will eat his commission because I book so often). Also, they take care of things if something goes wrong. I know mind has looked into alternate flights for me...like someone covering your ass...so...it's up to you, but I will continue that way.
