Just wondering if anybody else can tell us who booked through Expedia recently or in the past if transportation is included from the airport to the resort. Cheers C & C Feb 14th-21st :ernaehrung005:
Even with a transfer included we always purchase a transfer with USA Transfers (use link at bottom of page)...totally worth it to have your own private van to take you to the resort instead of having to wait of an 'included' transfer to fill up with people who will be getting dropped off before you. D
Expedia does include transportation in their packages but as stated you're herded onto either a bus or van with varying numbers of other people who aren't all going to the same place. TTR is usaully last on drop-off and first on pickup due to it's location. When we arrived in September the pickup area was very busy, we got moved to 3 different locations and stopped at 3 other hotels on the way there. The only bonus was we had time for a couple of beers while we waited. On the way back the van was 1/2hr late and we got stuck in horrible traffic heading further into the hotel zone before the driver gave up and took us to the airport, luckily the flight was delayed or I'm not sure we'd have made it. We're probably going to go with USA Transfers in April, $55 for the 2 of you and it's direct there and back. Reviews of this service have been very complimentary.
It's been stated numerous times on countless threads, but USA Transfers is the best bet for transfers between TTR and the airport.
As Ron says, basic Expedia packages do not include transfers. You have to go into their trip add-on section and check them separately. For Cancun they are currently using Best Day Travel and it's $24pp round trip. I generally sign up for their cheap one when I book and then I have it, but will likely get a separate private transfer via USA as others recommend.
Thanks so much everyone. Good job we checked as we assumed it would be included with booking through Expedia. USA Transfers it will be for us.
^^^^^^ nailed it!! no one wants to sit in a bus waiting for it fill up (sometimes up to an hour!) and then wait as everyone else gets off the bus and unloads their luggage at 10 other hotels (this usually takes over an hour,, often 90 minutes). it seems TTR is often the last stop. USA Transfers for $55 round trip a private transfer is the way to go!
We booked through expedia last summer and booked transportation through them also. At the end of the purchase it asked for extras and we booked transportation then. They use Best Day I believe. It was very simple and we got to the resort fairly quickly.... Did have to drop a couple of other couples first. This year we are booking transportation separately through USA Transfers. Whatever you do, I highly recommend having transportation booked beforehand. Hold your head high and walk through the crowd to get outside lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
