    Hi All,

We are staying at TTR in a couple of weeks and typically the wife likes to get off of the resort and head down to Playa for shopping etc during one of the days. We typically have stayed at resorts in Puerto Morelos and just take a cab down there and they simply waited for us to drive back to the resort.

That all being said does anyone recall what a cab costs from TTR down to Playa? Or are there other transportation options?

Also is there somewhere in Cancun with similar shopping like 5th Ave in Playa to stay a little closer?

    Thanks!

A couple of years ago we stayed in Playa and wanted to go to the Boobs Cruise at TTR. We used USA Transfers. I believe they were pretty reasonable. Much better than a taxi. They dropped us off in the morning and then pick us up after the cruise. I’m sure they would do the same thing for you just reverse of what I did.

We just did this in March, took a short taxi ride from TTR to the ADO Cancun bus station, then bus down and back to PDC, it drops Benito Juarez, so the South end of 5th Ave. Nice comfy bus, not very crowded, taxis right out of door at Cancun ADO station and back to TTR. Was the cheapest but I'm sure USA Transfers might be the nicest.

Take the colectivo , local bus service . It will cost you about 5$ each to get to playa . They are safe and you get to meet & chat with the locals . The colectivo is how they get everywhere .
Ask at reception which bus to get or one of the bell boys .

We've done the collectivo also. It's like the local van / bus. It was always very reliable, and a good price, other than once in a while it seems we had a driver who was making a getaway from something and we should be leaning out the window, shooting at the cars behind. But it's all part of the adventure.

We used the ADO buses to return from Playa about 4 years ago. It was very inexpensive, buses were clean, well air conditioned and very comfortable. As I remember the cost for two was 10 or 15 US dollars total. A cab ride would have been about 80. I know USA Transfers also offers service between the two cities - I have no idea of the cost.

Thank you all for the replies!

The Collectivo seems like a good option! Does it come right to the resort or does one have to go into Cancun to catch like Ado? I am assuming the Collectivo works on a set schedule?

Just ask one of the bell boys or reception people , most of them use them and can probably tell you where to get the colectivo and which one to get and where you will need to change if required . They dont think have a set schedule but remember your in mexico ........manana

We used the colectivo to go from playa to puerto morelos , cost us 4$ and we had to change bus once , it was real easy
