Before I start our trip report, we want to thank Rick and Alesha (ANDelgia) more than anyone on here can ever know. We were truly newbies to TTR but to traveling out of the country also. Without them, our own ignorance would have kept us here and we probably wouldnt have made this trip, so guys, THANK YOU, we love you 2. We had an AMAZING time and the 2 of you made sure we did so. We cant thank you enough!!! Feel free to add to this if we leave something out... Im pretty much gonna go with everything I can remember starting with how our trip started out. We met them at their house (approx 25 mins from our home) at 4:15 AM, load the truck with the luggage and head to BWI which is about an hour and a half or so. Its cold as hell outside and we're all SO excited to get into the air but first we need some breakfast. We punch IHOP into the GPS, and seems like this has been happening with IHOP lately, it is NOT there. WE settle for McD's. We get to the airport, park in the long term parking, start unloading all of the luggage and realize all 4 of us walked right past Aleshas carry on...its not here. She gets ahold of her father, its sitting right next to her car in the garage. SHIT!!! Now we all feel horrible, especially Rick. Not much we can do, realizing Mindi has enough make up and womens toiletries to get them thru the week so disaster one is pretty much averted. We get into the airport after waiting in 20 degree weather at the bus stop, get inline to get our boarding pass and after shuffling some stuff around to get the luggage underweight, one of the airline employees takes the wrong luggage tag, tags Aleshas bag to go to Jamaica. You gotta be kiddin me! Thankfully, Rick and Alesha saw the mistake AFTER the luggage was sent to the hold, made one of the employees call the hold and made them aware they had a "HOT" bag that was mislabeled. All of this is happening before we even got to security. Believe it or not, we get thru security without a hitch, go have a few drinks and await our time to board the plane HOPING they didnt lie to Alesha and her bag made it onto the correct air craft. After an hour and a half or so, we board the plane and start making our way out to our runway. Then another runway, then another, and another, and another. What the hell is going on? Seems we toured the ENTIRE BWI campus only to return to the tarmac (I guess you call it) and had the pilot feed us a line about an attendant in Cancun not making it into work and them having to wait til they had someone on the other side to bring back...BULLSHIT...took an hour. We FINALLY get into the air, already delayed about an hour to an hour and a half. This is NOT starting out good. The flight was uneventful, smooth and exciting. We were ALL anticipating the warm weather and sun. We begin our decent and the pilot chimes in, ding, folks, we'll be on the ground in about 15 mins, the weather in Cancun is cloudy and rainy. WTF!!! After the morning we all had, this was the last thing we wanted to hear. Anyway, the landing was one of the smoothest I have experienced. We make our way into the Cancun airport and you can tell it is very humid. But warm. Thats all that mattered. Im not sure if the air conditioning was broke or not on but wholly shit. Immigration is PACKED, and it is humid. It took us 2 hours to get thru that crap. BUT, Aleshas bag made it on the right plane. YES!!! Things are turning around! We make it thru what Rick called the "War Zone" on our way to our taxi/bus to get to the resort. We made stops at about 4 or 5 other resorts on the way to TTR which gave Mindi and I a chance to see some of the city and the architecture. Beautiful. Even the slums for some reason had some sort of attractiveness to them. We finally get to TTR only to hear some fat drunk slob bitching and complaining that he paid for a room and they have no rooms. Oh no...just when things turn around, now this. So, we go find out the deal. Low and behold, they DO NOT have rooms. They are OVERBOOKED. GREAT! What is supposed to be a vacation of a lifetime (so far) for Mindi and I, is turning into a fucking nightmare. Now what? Alesha, being the go getter she is, jumps to the front and is speaking for all of us and politely but firmly starts TEARING Alajandro a new asshole. We wanted a night at Desire, they were full. Our only option, was Blue Bay Club. These drunk guys were saying it was horrible, wherever they try to send you, dont turn right and all this crap. We were tired, did not want to be difficult, so we said ok, we'll go to Blue Bay. We'll be back at 7 Am and TTR was going to give us the world. They split Mindi and I into one cab and Rick and Alesha into another, ummm. It had the makings of every bad Mexican movie we'd ever seen. You have to remember, Mindi and I have NEVER been here. So the way these cab drivers drive, and going thru this ghetto, he could have wipped into a garage, shot me in the head and got a good bit of money putting Mindi into the Mexican sex trade for the rest of her life. We were really worried. We get to the Blue Bay club and it is very nice. They treat us like royalty, put us in the owners suite. 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, 3 jacuzzis, living room, dining room, full kitchen, 3 balconies. TOP NOTCH. We were happy. We showered, went out to do their activities for the night and had a good time. To our surprise, we get back to the room, and a spread of fresh fruits and champagne await the four of us...all in all, a good day. We're in Mexico, the weather is 55 degrees warmer and it can ONLY get better... Saturdays report will come a bit later.
Sounds like you guys made the best of a bad situation ! All the rooms should be like the one you stayed in at BB club !!!
WOW..what a day..Glad to hear things worked out for u both..This is probably my worse fear..to get there and hear OVER BOOKED!!:banghead: Look forward to reading the rest of your TR
Glad to hear the temporary accommodations turned out well and based on some other posts the trip turned out great in the end! :biggrinbandit:
Saturday (from what I remember) what was pretty uneventful. We got to TTR around 8 AM or so. Our rooms wouldnt be ready until after 1PM. After they were checked out and cleaned. Fine. We got our wristbands, we were assured we would get our upgrades, our spa credits were to be used at our leisure. The weather was a bit cloudy with the sun going in and out but it was about 85 degrees or so. AHHHH. The warmth of the sun. We got some beds down by the beach and started drinking. In the meantime, we were making friends left and right. Shalomtou (Ken and Darcie) were kind of along for the ride as far as getting bumped and sent to Blue Bay so we made sure we partied with them as much as possible. WOW. Great people. We have made some lifelong friends there. Ken and I actually traded shirts from our local Harley shops being he is from the west coast and us from the east. One day, he and I will ride together. Good people there. In the afternoon, we walked in to check on our room, and it was ready so FINALLY, we were in. We had our bags taken to the room, got settled in and dug in for the party. Saturday night was great. We went to Patty O's all night. They had dancers dancing on the bars. Hired whatever, the one in the fishnets had an ass to die for. It was hypnotizing...all I can say. I (Bill) must have watched her rear end for what seemed like hours upon hours. Then 2 more I dont know, druid like chicks came out and there dance was more sensual. A LOT of alcohol. A LOT of alcohol was consumed on Saturday. I now have a new found love for pina coladas...
Great Great trip report so far! Don't forget to mention how hot all the women looked around the pool.
