Tours/excursions

Hello. My wife and I are going to Temptation for the first timethis Aug for 6 days we will arrive Sat evening and are wanting to maybe do Xel-Ha or The whale shark snorkel on Sunday. My question is it better to book this through the resort or through the tour operator? If the resort is better does anyone know if I can book in advance? We are trying to fit activities in around the pool side fun and boob cruise lol.

First off, you are way better than us if you can fit anything else in “around” the BC, pool side fun, theme nights, room crawls and restaurants!

My recommendation is to do only one. You can do the other the next time. We did 1 excursion a trip for many years and liked the balance of not being away from the party for too long but also hitting some highlights.

 

I would just book it through the tour operator. It’s simple and ultimately they are the ones who will pick you up. We have done both Xel-Ha and the Whale Sharks. The whale sharks are in Cancun so it will be a short drive. Xel-Ha is in the Riviera Maya which is about a 90 minute drive and can lead to a long day. We loved them both so I don’t think you can go wrong with either.

 

Has anyone done a whale shark tour near the end of August?

 

Second hand... We met a couple that went and had a blast. Both said it was one of the really unique experiences.
