My wife and I are staying at Le Meridien and are curious if anyone knows if that pool allows topless sunbathing. If not, is there any public beaches within walking distance that allow it? Are there any beaches within cab rides that allow/encourage topless bathing? Any help would be appreciated!
There are no topless beaches per say in Cancun. But there's no law against topless sunbathing either. Problem is that most of the beaches will have kids on them and I think most women would feel funny about going topless with young kids and teenagers around. The adults only resorts "allow" it but if there are kids at a resort it is definitely frowned on.
Really ? Never stopped them the 4 times i havebeen to Mexico. I dont think you will have any issues if you wish to go topless.
I think many women maybe comfortable going topless in an adults only but wouldn't think of it on a public beach or anywhere else that kids are aaround. Several of my friends have no problem with it at BBG but when we go to a public beach and there are kids around it's not even an option for them.
When I have stayed at the Oasis Playa, women who tried to go topless around the pool were told by security to cover up. It was slightly more relaxed at the beach though.
My saying has always been "I won't do something in front of your kids that I wouldn't want you to do in front of mine" I'm topless more than not at BBG, but not when we stayed at other resorts.
I do the topless thing, but not in front of kids. I just think that's a bit over the top for American kids to be exposed to. Dunno if I'd feel the same on a beach in a European country....they seem a bit less uptight about toplessness & nudity. Michelle
Very generally speaking, the topless experience can be ruined by peeps (kids and adults) who act like they've never seen ta-ta's before and just stand around with google-eyes as you are lying there just trying to catch some rays. Also some rude persons who like to sneak around and take pictures for their own pleasure and even post them on certain kinds of websites. Am not making this up. One of those same persons a couple years ago posted a link to one of those sites asking if some particular pics were taken off the beach at the BBG. Naturally, we deleted the link, but it made us more aware of what may be happening when the ladies are innocently trying to get the perfect tan. Perhaps incidents like these are reduced when staying poolside at adult-only resorts?
While staying at the BBG last July my wife and I became frineds with another family. Man, Wife, and 3 young kids we thought were in college. Come to find out the kids were 17 year old high school kids. The wife said if she had known that she would have never gone topless.
Side question: you met up with this family at BBG? the kids were 17? how did they manage to dodge the age-requirement for guests?
