Awright...since my life will be pretty interesting in the coming weeks, I've had to move up the annual "top ten threads" post. Reiterating from the last one, in the past I had included threads that had been stickied and the threads that have achieved legendary status and just will not die! :lol: These new top ten lists are more exclusive, but also allow a greater opportunity for peeps who haven't cracked the list before do to so. The qualifications are: the thread must have been started during the year of recognition, and the thread must never have been stickied. Stickies have the advantage of always being exposed on the first page of their respective forums and get more traffic. Not fair. I am human, so if I accidentally/unknowingly include a thread that once was sticked I beg your pardon. Threads are ranked by combining member participation and general interest. I may tweak the formula differently for the next "new" top ten. And now....... List of the "Top Ten Threads of 2007" (drum roll, please) #10 - straight to the chase..how many guys here got laid in cancun .................pHiLLyGuY215 posted only ten times in a three-day period of November and then disappeared without acknowledging just how popular his query became in the Spring Break Forum. But as AJ0527 points out, no one goes to Cancun expecting to get lucky...it's all a myth. #9 - Anti-Bush Bumperstickers .................Anyone for a quiet discussion about politics? There's bound to be a few dozen hidden away in the Free For All forum; however, Rivergirl's introduction of this subject brought out CC members from all over the political spectrum and sometimes things got a bit heated. Considering the USA is now in an election year, we shouldn't be surprised to see a few more like this thread pop up. #8 - THE DRUNKEN POST THREAD .................Cancuncare's party boy, shauny, writes the intro, "OK LADIES AND GENTLEMEN THIS THREAD IS TO BE SOLELY USED AFTER YOU HAVE COME IN DRUNK AS A SKUNK AFTER A NIGHT OUT..." and so on :lol: Lots of drunks remember to post during the year...just as many don't and post a number of their own threads in the Spring Break Forum filled with misspellings. Don't forget to post here before you forget everything...or pass out. #7 - UPDATED-- Hurricane Dean (Cat 5) .................Steve posts this in the Cancun Info forum. At the time it's just known as Tropical Depression 4. By the time it's all over, Cancun had just dodged a bullet, Chetumal is in ruins and at least three of CC's locals (Steve, CancunCanuck, and Rivergirl) have participated with interviews with the global media. Don't forget the hurricane blog!!! #6 - what ccers do u think will hook up ................punkman23 starts off proposing that rice and dennis are the more likely candidates. Dangerous thread. Unfortunately, as many threads go in the Spring Break Forum, this one was hi-jacked and we still did not get everyone's take. It does bring to mind another thread from Spring Breaks past that paired guys and gals for the upcoming holiday. #5 - Wicked Weasel Poll (PICS NSFW) ................As happens surprisingly often, someone with few if any posts on CC (cionitti2) asks a hot question that takes off with a life of its own: "Ok How many women have wicked weasel bikinis?" Mind the title of this thread, as some of our lovelier members chose to show off their duds for the other regulars in the Temptation Chatter forum. *sigh* #4 - FLORIDA INVASION - SOUTH BEACH you're invited! ................If this was ever a sticky, I forgot...so sue me DConCT proposes a meet-up at South Beach and a bunch of peeps get all excited about it. About 11 CC'ers initially commit to the big day on the beach. In the end three stalwarts invade Miami and make it their own. Glasses raised to Dennis, Henry (hw711) and Dan (Cancun_bound) for making the trip and thanks for the pics! (...in separate threads). Cancun pics..........(SFW) ................CollegeGuy starts the longest-running Spring Break Forum pics thread yet. Cancun's beaches, bars and babes are all represented here, and they're still posting. If you have an awesome pic, please contribute to stoke the fire for the Breakers getting pumped for the big holiday in two months! #2 - Ian (and company) Invades CT (a memory) ................This conversation actually started in another thread in the Spring Break Forum as a hijacked topic; however, when it looked serious enough it was given a home of its own as "Ian Invades CT" in the Free For All. Ian leads off on this one and it evolved into perhaps the most successful CC peeps meet-up in 2007. Carole, Red2PartY, Waste, hw711, DConCT and others all gang up on CT and put it on the map. Where will Ian end up next? Toronto?? #1 - Spring Break 2008!!Get Pumped!! ................From waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down under Matty starts to hype up the 2008 Spring Break...before the 2007 event even starts! 37 pages of "woooo's", promises made, arrangements announced and pics. This Spring Break Forum wonder was never made a sticky, so it qualifies as the number one thread of 2007! Keep posting, peeps! An addendum: There was one thread that began on December 31, 2006, that deserves a mention here. Ian's SOCCER thread. ( ) in the Free For All has grown so large...if it had only been posted one day later it would be the #1 thread of 2007. However, since Ian already has a place on the current list with the #2 thread, I'm sure he isn't feeling too bad about that.
Awesome post Michael! For your answer in #2, it may be CT again. We just hijacked another thread (Buy Your Where's Fletch Stuff Here) and Ian posted potential flight details to help celebrate Red2Party's & Dennis' birthdays. As usual, Fletch is promising an appearance, but as all other events he's promise to attend in the past, we expect another NO SHOW
I'm proud to be a key player in #2, #4, and #6 I will do my Dennis Says... in one thread and conquer all this year. Long live the King!
