Was working up westt of Sheffield today at Derwent Dam near Lady Bower reservoir and thought I'd share a few piccies I took.... Derwent Dam, used In practise runs by the RAF in WW2 before the famous Dambusters raid on the night of 16/17th May 1943 in square head land.. Closer up.. T'other side... Lower down the reservoir towards Lady Bower... Ian
Cheers girls, They were taken at approx 3.30 this afternoon. I took a load more of the Lady Bower resv ( gets its name from the village that was stood there but was evacuated to make way for the damm, in summer when the waters low you can see the tops of the house roofs and church steeple ) . this morn at 7am when we got there as the mist was rolling across but had my phone on the wrong setting and to be hobest they look crap   Ian
Mmmmm, piccie's from other side of bridge on last piccie in first post, phone on wrong camera setting  Ian
ian, I must say I dont think I have seen anything so beautiful!! I have never been over there, but will shortly hopefully!! Wow!
Yeah, its really nice up there, 22miles from my house. I'm a bit annoyed I dont get up there more often as its a major tourist attraction with some proper olde wolde viilages ( and village pubs  ). Were back up there to finish the job on Thursday so I'm thinking about going out and buying a proper camera and hope the weather holds out again. Ian
