Like countless others before us, we're unsure whether or not to take the 'risk'...

Married 8 years, both late 20's, English couple.
Typical young professionals in need of a combo of chilled out relaxation and night time party antics.

The female half is the affable, open, go with anything, happy go lucky, everybody loves her type.

The male half is the more irritable, grumpy, bags of fun if he's in the mood but a bit of a grumpster if he's not type!!!

    (No point lying...)

We have no problem with topless as we holiday in Ibiza/rest of Europe every year and Mrs J will spend the week topless and in a thong. It'll be nice to be around the like minded.

However, we're worried that the pool games/atmosphere may be a tad trashy/tacky and we don't want to do an expensive long haul 10 day holiday to find we shouldn't have come!

I'm sure we'd love it and we make friends wherever we go on holiday. We're sure this would be no exception. We have good friends of all ages. We're just a tad unsure about the full on party atmosphere when we want to chill (and sleep).
Partying and being raucously outrageous is loads of fun...when you're in the mood.
We're not prudes in any way. We're just not sure it's for us. How quiet is the quiet pool?
Anybody got any advice? Thanks heaps...

The great thing about Temptation is you can make it whatever you want it to be.

If you want to go full on you can, if you want to relax and get away from the mayhem you can do that too. There's the beach or the quiet pool. The quiet pool is very quiet, and probably not unlike most other resorts in Cancun. It's nice to have the choice - imagine going to a quiet resort and not having anything lively at all to take part in when the mood takes you.

We've seen this kind of question posted so many times and almost of those that took the plunge didn't regret it. Have a browse through our trip report sub forum and you'll find reports from folks who had the exact same initial concerns as you who now cant wait to come back!

I honestly feel that there is something for everyone at TTR. If you're not in the mood for the Sexy pool, there are lots of other, more quiet areas to be. I would encourage you to go....not because we are repeaters but because most who are nervous at first end up having a great time (whatever that means to you as a couple). The resort is very nice and the staff is great. The resort has many activities to offer, from the very relaxing to the wild....and the people/guests are very friendly. I hope this helps. We were nervous our first time too. If you have any specific questions, feel fee to PM us.

Two really quick replies! Thanks so much.
We're sure if we go we'll love it and make great friends.
Brits abroad have a bad rep and we'd love to change that!
We're not nervous about being outrageous or a bit rude etc.
We're very open. It's more the worry of lack of sleep etc.
Any tips on securing a quiet room?
Also, we'd be coming early-mid September. That a good time?

Hello fellow Brits! Go. You sound like it's right up your street. Yes, you can escape if you want to, our first trip we spent the first 2 days at the quiet pool, because that's what we "did" on other holidays, but not here!
You don't have to get involved, just watch the fun if you like.
As for a quiet room, just ask for one! You may have to compromise and have 2 queen beds instead of a king, but it's worth it. 5 block is quiet.
At least you'll feel ok with the whole topless/thong thing, us Europeans sometimes forget this is a big thing for some!

My understanding is that you can request a quiet room, away from Patty-Os and away from the Sexy pool. Of course it's not a guarantee, but if when you check-in you don't like the room, they will typically allow you to change it right away....unless they are all booked up. I've never been there at that time, so I can't respond to that one.

Well you sound like us personality wise (I'm a 50yo grumpyish ex-pat, my wife is much younger, wonderful and makes friends with everyone), you'll fit right in.

Are the games tacky, well yeah but they're fun too, I defy you not to laugh at/with the people playing them. Especially after many drinks in the pool. If you don't like them you can pretty much ignore them.

There is plenty of opportunity to do your own thing and skip out of the party atmosphere for a night or two if you wish, but I bet you join in often once you're there.

It really is contagious, I'm positive you'll have a great time.

We stayed in the 5 block last year and it was very quiet and had a king size bed. When we go back this year we will definitely request the same area. - Melissa

Hello NorfolkNights! I would have to agree with everyone about TTR. You can definitely make your vacation what you would like it to be. There are all kinds of people there and leisurely options available too! There no need to spend every moment at the Sexy Pool.... the Quiet Pool is also great.......and don't forget the beach. Y'all should come!!!
