Pesos are the easiest for the staff because they'll exchange dollars for pesos...but dollars are common as well. The most important thing is to tip to all who help make your trip amazing!
thx. We are big believers in tipping. But wondering what staff would rather get as a tip. Being from Canada bringing US is easier for me but I will try for pesos if that is preferred
Depends for us. Great service and more high profile staff like bartenders we use us dollars. House staff etc pesos.
If You are from Canada you lose money buying US$ the servers lose money exchanging US $ back to peso's! As Steve says they can't pay there rent or utilities in US$. Our American friends should bring their US$, everyone else should exchange directly to pesos. I just go to a Scotiabanco cash machine and it works fine, don't use the ATM at the resort
Ok here is the simple version... If you are from the US or happen to have US money at home, use the USD. If you are from literally anywhere else or need to get money exchanged, use Pesos.
