Hi all! I was wondering about the safety of 'valuables' in the hotel room. My husband and I were always very trusting of hotel staff until our last trip (not Temptation) when some 'not so valuable but still important to us' stuff went missing. Disappointing to say the least...
I will be bringing my DSLR along to capture our fun vacation memories. It is a fairly expensive camera but its the only one I have so I really want to bring it along. My question is will it be safe in the room (outside of the safe)? will it fit in the safe (its approx 4"x5"x7")? Also my hubby wants to bring his laptop. will that fit? both?

    thanks in advance

I kept my very expensive DSLR and lenses in the safe at all times they were not being used. as for my laptop and chargers. I left them out and had no issues

    same here

I have been going many years to this resort and never had a problem with laptop, cameras or mobiles and cash... in and out of safe, my friend left his wallet on the bar and it was promptly handed in at reception intact.... the only negative thing I have ever heard was one time some silly boys picked up some ladies of the night!!! and sneaked them into the hotel... the made off with all the lads wallets etc

Use the safe to avoid any potential issues. The only thing we have ever had missing is the $5 bill laying on the pillows on our bed for the maid.

We've been there 3 times and had no issues. Our D50 fitted in the safe no problem plus we managed to get our phones, mp3 players etc in there. If yuo use the safe you should be fine xx

    safety

ive been there many times, I have personally never had a problem . However a friend had his portable dvd player and camera stolen, they were not in safe however and the video surveilance showed shady blurry images that no one could use, The one reccomendation I always tell people is that if your on the bottom floor always use that piece of wood they give you to secure your sliding patio door, if one is not there when you get there, they will come measure and make you one. better safe then sorry.

7 trips no issues...laptop will not fit into safe..camera will...most things by the pool are safe...only heard of an ipod being stolen once...but as always....if you don't want it gone keep it with you...i know i tend to lose track of things in direct proportion to the number of shots I have!!

The first floor rooms seem to be the most vulnerable to break-ins due to the patio doors being easier to open without a key. Over the years a few rooms have had items stolen because of this. These rooms usually have a board that fits into the track to prevent the door from opening but it doesn't always get used.

Use the safe & you'll be fine!
