Depends how much they actually do and if they are available when you need them? Have had great ones and tipped upto $250 over the trip and had ghosts we saw once or twice and they got about $20 total.
Agreed, depends on what you ask of them. K and I are pretty low maintenance for our butlers, usually just "more water bottles in the room" and "can we reserve a poolside bed". Not even restaurant reservations at this point, and especially not bottle service tables at the club. If our butler is prompt at getting it sorted, then like $20 at the end of the trip.
We barely ever (if at all) even see our butler during our 2 week stays. I will tip if he actually does stuff for us but refuse to tip first!!
