The first post is always the hardest! :) We are planning our first trip sometime between July 18 and July 26. I have read so many great reviews and tips on here but I feel like I don't have much to ask! One tip that I have read is that it may be cheaper to book a Gardenview room and then upgrade to what you want after you get there... Any thoughts? We hope to get a room overlooking the quiet pool. Is it less crowded at the end of July so that we would have some options in picking our specific room when we check in?

After an absolutely horrible vacation to Aruba last year, we are really hoping that the party at Temptation will be the cure to our vacation boredom! we have only been to Cancun once before, and that was when we got married at Excellence Playa Mujeres. It was an absolutely wonderful place to get married and pure luxury all the way, but it was also a big snooze fest... It felt like a retirement home past 8pm and Nikki was one out of maybe five girls that went topless the whole week we were there.

Also... Nikki has got it stuck in her head that four nights will be plenty. I'm of course telling her that she is crazy, and I feel confident I can talk her into five nights... We definitely want to do a Boobs Cruise and that is pretty much a whole day lost at the resort right there! But any assistance from you guys in convincing her would be much appreciated!!!

I'm sure we will have many more questions, but that's it for now! Thanks everybody!

It may be cheaper to book and then upgrade, but you're rolling the dice on being able to upgrade. For our first trip, we booked a jacuzzi suite and they talked us into upgrading to an ocean view suite and I didn't regret it at all. Last year, we booked a jacuzzi suite with the intent on the same upgrade but no rooms were available. This year, we're sticking with the jacuzzi suite again, with no plans on an upgrade.

Also, four nights is nowhere near enough. Our first trip was six nights, last year seven, and this year eight. We're not big partiers every night, but the more the merrier.

Welcome to CCC and to the Nakify July crowd!!! So glad you found this site before your first visit and that you're spending time reading through so many of the posts. Finding friends on here before you go makes the trip even more fun! We will be there July 11-19th, so only one day together, but looking forward to meeting you both and hopefully sharing a drink or two. :daveandmo:

We typically just get the garden view room because we don't spend much time in our room, but everyone has different likes. YOU WILL NOT BE BORED AT Temptation! LOL. It slows down a bit between 5-9 pm when everyone gets ready for the evening and has dinner. Other than that, it's party, party, party! :lotsofmichaelfs:

We typically go for 10 days, which takes some real pacing. To us, 4 days is not enough.....we wouldn't go for less than 7. Just our two cents. Even after 10 days we often really bummed to leave....but in need of some real recovery time. LOL. :drunk:

If you haven't already, don't forget to add yourselves to the July Roll Call sticky and below is the link for the Nakify July Theme Nights.

Yep, I definitely hear you... The deals I'm looking at are only an extra couple hundred bucks to do a deluxe ocean view, so I think that may be the way to go. And don't get me wrong, we are no party animals by any stretch of the imagination. It's about 10 years too late for that for me and 5 years too late for Nikki (she was way more fun before we got married but don't tell her I said so!). Lol ;) But on vacation?? Different story!!

I would book Ocean View if it is important to you, it wasn't much more expensive on the last booking. Ask to see the room at Check in. We had a choice between 2 on our first trip (booked Ocean view). Chose the one we liked best.

Some folks can chime in better than I can here, but I think you have to get to the premium rooms that the windows face the ocean, before you get much more than small piece of ocean "view" Quite a few of the rooms face 90 degrees to the ocean, and there are other buildings in the way. This resort being only 3 floors doesn't really get the high rise view out over the ocean.

Thank you for the warm welcome, Ginger! We haven't booked just yet as we are trying to decide on the exact dates. We just know that it'll be sometime between July 18 and the 26th as those are the vacation days we have approved from work. As soon as we book, I'll definitely add our dates to the July roll call!

this 1 has some views of the rooms.
also have to keep in mind that there is only 4 floors and stairs but the views from the top floor ocean view can be very nice. esp around the sexy pool 3000 block

Looks like you are targeting the same dates as us. We tend to go pretty hard both day and night instead of pacing (not the best strategy, but we're both "dont want to miss anything" kind of people), so we try to keep our trips around 6 nights. Regardless of how many you choose, you're going to have a blast! See you there. :flash:
