So how much should we expect to tip over a 5 night stay? Trying to get an estimate on how much we'll need. We've been on cruises before, is it similar? Do you tip daily or at the end of your stay?
we normally take $25 per day in $1 bills just for tips. maid 2-3 per day. the background staff make about $10--15 per day so any thing can make a poor week into a good week. they work their butts off. we also use any left over change--pesos as tips. ps us coins can not be used, and the bils must be like new and not wrote on etc. we get news bills form our bank before the trip.
We tip the maid 20 on the first morning with a little note. Ensures we have plenty of beer and water in the fridge the rest of our stay. A few bar tenders at the sexy pool get a special tip as does one of the waiters/tenders at PattyO's. We have gotten to know these guys and always want to make sure they are taken care of for giving us great service.
