Being from the Uk we hardly tip, Whats best to tip everytime and how much or tip for the night and how much do people normally tip ?
This is how i handle it : Guy carrying your bags to the room : 2-3 US$ per bag Maid: 1-2 US$ / day and 10 when i go home (if happy with her service) Bartender at the Resort (occasionally 1-2 bucks) Bartender at the Clubs 15-20bucks upfront , so he always keeps the drinks flowing Waiter at Restaurant 10-20% of bill (depends how happy you are with the service) Cabdriver 1-5US$ This is not a guide, just for you to figure it roughly out. With the numbers above i always had a great service.
We're looking to do something like the following: Front Desk (this if we want to get a better room/quicker service, optional) – $30 or 300 pesos Restaurants – 15-20% of bill Maid - $2 or 20 pesos per person per day Bellboy - $2 or $20 pesos per bag Bar Staff – $1 or 10 pesos per drink If we want the waiter to keep the drinks flowing and to serve us as a priority we need to hit them up for a bigger tip upfront like $10 or 100 pesos. Then top them up during the night. Hope this helps dude.
I get where your coming from mate ! I work as a barman part time and hardly ever get a tip , the odd quid now and again . I think when we go to places like Ibiza etc we take it for granted, we never tip and leave the place a mess .
Been to Europe last 4 hols and never Tip, but by the sounds of it if you tip you get drinks quicker I will be tipping in Cancun Defo !!!
