I have seen some tipping advice but I was hoping for more. Do you leave a tip on the table after you eat? Without paying a check I am not sure. Do I tip more at the nicer restaurants then say the buffet. Do most people tip a bartender when they start drinking, as they go along, or at the end? Other places I have stayed at I tipped at one time at the end of the trip for the service staff. I always tipped waiters and bartenders as I went along but everything was billed to my room. Any suggestions would be helpful. I don't want to under tip but at the same time I am not planning $1000.00s into my tipping plans, at least not at this point lol.
We tip as we go, you never know when someone is coming or going from a shift. More service at nicer restaurants so tip more there. Poolside bar staff is awesome that's where the majority of our tip money goes. Or where we spend the most time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
to me tipping is what I do everytime I eat or get a drink also the room girl a small tip goes a long way @ the resort if only you knew?
We tipped everywhere when ever we got service. We tipped our room girl well to keep us supplied with plenty of bottled water..never know when you need to share lol Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
I only tip when I get great awesome service with a smile. which means at Temptation I tip all the time I bring about 4000 pesos for a week and try to spread it out. Some bring more some less,, its up to you .
As others said, we also tip as we go. The service at TTR has always been exceptional for us, so we are glad to tip well and often. These workers earn it.
We tipped as we went along. We did tip more at the nicer restaurants and at breakfast as we always got great service.
No tipping is billed to your room, so you need to tip as you go. We tip well, although admittedly less than we would in the states. $5/day for the maid, $2-3 for breakfast and lunch, $1-2 for the omelette gal, $10 for dinner, $5 once or twice for the server around the pool, and $1 to $5 for each bar tender or server at whichever evening bar that we are at. We usually stay on the 4th floor, and it is hard not to tip Alfredo well for bringing our bags up the stairs. Most of the tips are genuinely appreciated, and bring about even better service. Be sure to give the towel guy a buck or two if you want to see a big smile. You won't spend $1000 in tip, but it will add up.
Just make sure you take a sandwich bag for your money not sure if they still have those in the rooms haven't been in almost two years. This will keep your tip money nice and dry if you have it in your swim suit pockets and decide to go for a swim. Others like Donald who takes the peso don't have to worry as the peso is water proof. Just a little tip for your tips.
