We can definitely drink a lot, and I do believe in tipping -- housekeeping for sure, bar staff, etc! So we were gonna bring a bunch of US$ in one- and five-dollar amounts for tipping. How much is enough for a week at TTR? And I've been to some resorts where you sort of tip on each drink as a courtesy and others where you might have a few rounds and then drop a 5, 10, or 20-spot. What's the TTR custom?
We always tipped the cleaning lady a little extra to get an extra bottle or two of water. We would tip the bartenders every 3 or 4 drinks to stay on there good side. They remember who is tipping and who isn't. We take enough to cover $20 a day and usually have a little left at the end of our trip.
We usually bring around $500 for tips for a week, leave cleaning lady $5 first day and then $2/3 every day after. We tip after every meal, and also tip regularly to the bar tenders, with a large tip at each bar we visit the first day too.
We always bring a few hundred in ones and fives amazing how great the service is when you are tipping. Especially when you are ordering 20 shots at a time for your friends.....
Perfect -- That's what I was thinking, you guys. Thanks for the input! And if you're there when we are, round of shots on us!
Don't forget to also tip ur waiters at the ala carte restaurants. We would usually leave $10 or $20 after each meal. And boy do they remember then if you go back a few nights later. Great service. Kelly
Typically when Stacia & I drop down to TTR for a 5-7 night stay, I bring $100 for tip money, purely for the TTR folks busting their asses for us. We like to drop a $5 with our first drink, "establishing a relationship" with our closest bartender each day, and if staying at TTR that night, the same system follows. When something hilarious happens, which it will, generally that gets more single tips, and there's aalways a "Booster" tip if it is a long, full drunken day at the sexy pool talking, shooting bull, ogling and laughing, and enjoying the people. Tipping the housecleaning staff I leave to Stacia, and I think she leaves a couple bucks when we arrive, first morning, then gives as much as $10 to $20 depending at the end. Going out? That's a whole different story and it's very typical American-style at the bars, so we just run a tab and do the total thing at the end, unless, again, there's a special need at the bar, such as tipping hard for naked on-the-bar body shots. But, of course, Stacia hasn't ever done that, so don't share the pics.
We count on about $50/day to cover everyone. The staff very much appreciate it and the top notch service gets even better Sometimes it is hard to decide where to sit in the buffet restaurant when the waiters are trying to get you to sit in their section, lol.
We do almost exactly as B & C 500.00 for the week. We also bring chocolate bars for the maids and give them a couple with a tip each day as they appreciate it and love to take the Hershey's or whatever home to their children. We usually tip with every drink and always with each meal. Remember money can get wet so u can put it in your trunks and continue to tip while at swim up bar. Trust me they don't mind wet money it dries quickly! You will get treated like royalty as they remember. We will be going for our 15th trip and on thursday we will walk up to the sexy pool bar on arrival and they will have our drinks waiting for us without even opening our mouths as they remember what we drink!
We bring $100 per day and that covers everything tips Boobs Cruise bars etc. So the more we stay at the resort the more we tip. Usually go home with 50 to 100(airport cash)
