Question: What have you found is the "best" way to tip? Tip every time you get a drink or tip just once if you're hanging by the pool all day? How much do you tip the maids each day? I'm trying to determine the break down in cash that I need to bring along? Need help!:huepfen021:

Tip the bartender a couple bucks each of the first three rounds, then sporadically after that. Tip the maid $5 when you see her, and keep in mind you will not have the same maid every day so you would want to tip each individual one if you want any extras in the room. We bring a fat wad of one dollar bills, figure about $14-$24 per day.

Ok, just got back and way over estimated tipping.

This is based off of perception of other people tipping and what we did combined.

    - Housekeeping: $4 a day tipping, $6 on the first day. This gets
You all the water, beer, and coke light you want + some
    Cool towel animals.

    - $2 to breakfast each day, $3 to non dinner meals at restaurants. $5 to non reservation meals, $10 to reservation meals.

    - $5 at sexy pool bar early in the day, probably $5 more throughout the day to him - but not all at the same time, spread the effect. Give a bit more for a big round of drinks or shots.

    - $6 or so per night out to wait staff, well worth it.

This is what we practiced, and it worked out well for us, but still under budget, and had phenomenal service.

Sorry for any Engrish, on my phone.

Go to bank get 2 stacks of 100 singles=$200 to bring. You'll go thru them by time you leave.

*The 20 Pesos bill is pretty cool for your swimsuit pocket, it equals like $1.50 U.S. It's Waterproof & is completely dry in like 5 seconds out of your pocket, so get a stack of those if you bother to exchange.*

    :)

Along with tipping as all have mentioned above. Being friendly can also go a long way. I don't feel like they are "staff" at TTR, I treat everybody as if they were friends/family....Only 62 days until the next visit !!!
