OK I have read many of the threads on here about the timeshare rentals from Premier members and still a bit confused about the AI Fees. Seems some members have their AI fees locked in and others do not. Some say they pay per person and others per couple. So if I could hear back from some premier members about the AI fees. The AI fees that premier members pay are they specifically only the members that or anyone the rents the timeshare from them?
Our membership has lower AI for Annette and I, along with our beneficiaries, than for our other guests. The AI we pay has one rate during low season, and a higher rate during high season. Singles are cheaper than doubles. The rate for guests changes throughout the year, and somewhat mirrors what the rate from Funjet or Apple may be.
And my rate is locked in each year, although it increases via Mexican CPI. (The last two years have been 3 or 4% There have been many iterations of the plan. I suspect there are probably 3 or 4 other versions out there
There are hundreds of different contracts out there that are all totally different. We have been members since 2003 and upgraded once since then and I can tell you for sure that there has been atleast 10 different contracts with different prices and different benefits over the years. At one point they were changing their contracts weekly/monthly. They couldn't even figure out where the original contracts were at. Ours we're in Mexico city at one point with no copy to be found in cancun. There is really no way for anyone to answer this question correctly unless they bought about the same time as you. Our contract is really different than any thats been bought in the last year or two. Steve really knows the most about the contracts since he's been involved for years and years also an has also heard everyone else issues. But the best thing I can tellyou is read your contract completely and then call them. And don't just take what they say. Sometimes they don't know which contract you have.
Beverly is exactly right. Im good friends with one of the people who books the rates and it took him 3 or 4 times to get my rate right... Just have and understand your contract and you should be fine
