Ok, so this is my first time going to Cancun. Not to Mexico, though. But I am unaware of exactly what the time sharers are trying to sell. Like whats the difference between booking at the resort normally. If anybody can give me a heads up that would be awesome.
After you get to TTR and check in, the receptionist will point you over to the desk behind you to your right, which is the time share people, but they'll tell you to go see the lady at that desk and she'll give you your map of the hotel, and answer any questions you have.... dont go there unless you really want to waste your time. They ask for a minimal deposit of the tour of the hotel, and promise to give you either a T shirt, bottle of tequila, or a mug.... skip it and just grab your bags and head to your room, get changed, grab a drink from your fridge and jump in the sexy pool and begin meeting people. Walk around the hotel if your really interested in seeing a ton doors to rooms to find your way around. As you meet people, they'll explain where and when everything is such as Nice Shoes Bar at the hotel and Paty'o Bar also. In the morning you'll hear a knock on the door, don't answer it, its the time share people... if it is a maid, she'll let herself in to clean the room and come back if you're still sleeping. Following that route, your phone will ring next, over and over again. Just answer it and say "I am not interested" and they'll leave you alone from there. Other than that, if you want to do the tour, enjoy it as they take you to the breakfast you're going to get anyway, talk your ear off, show you the gym, the different bars, the sales room and all "The Benefits" of being a Premier Member which honestly doesn't make sense to most people there, only the people who bought into it. The math doesn't add up!!! And last but not least... if you do the tour and when you get to the sales office... the drinks are very heavy in alcohol to help lower your better judgement Hope that helps
Maybe I should wear a sign that says I do security for a living. They'll know right then and there that I can't afford it
Yeah almost forgot that part too, tons of people saying "Sunwing - Air Canada" etc etc, they are not apart of Temptations, just keep walking outside until you see a tour rep that you booked your trip through, your name will be on a sheet of paper for the hotel the buses are going to drop everyone off at, Temptations is the last resort, so be ready for about a 60 minute ride, or you can prebook through USA Tranfers and get a cab straight to the hotel, only a 20 minute drive away, and they are highly recommend here and cheap, and they'll take you back also with the reservation
Here are some recent threads on the subject and what it all means: http://www.cancuncare.com/forum/tem...r-timeshare-owners-looking-rent-week-out.html http://www.cancuncare.com/forum/temptation-resort-cancun/24162-timeshare-pitch-bracelets.html http://www.cancuncare.com/forum/temptation-resort-cancun/23975-timeshare-presentation.html
