I have no idea how, when, where or why it started, but loads of people mysteriously elect to add an s to Temptation. It's just Temptation - no "s". Unless you are ordering more than one of the drink known as the Temptation, or are referring to the numerous sources of temptation you might encounter at the resort named Temptation. haha
I thought I was the only one this drove batty! Either that or I'll win the lottery and start my own resort called Temptations. Instead of red the colour will be a light blue or green instead with a long stem rose as opposed to an apple. /yeah that's the ticket!
I'm kind of a human spell check...so I've noticed it too. As long as we all agree that we love the place, it doesn't matter much how people spell it. Now that I think about it though...I've seen about a dozen spellings of Paty 'O's.
I think it comes from trying to show ownership. Like, instead of saying "I'm going over to Kevin house", it's "I'm going over to Kevin's house". I know I've been guilty of it a few times when people ask where we are going.
Ha. I know I have intentionally spelled Paty O's 6 different ways in a single paragraph bc I have no clue which is the right way. I mean is there a sign there that has it spelled out or is it on the hotel guide or I guess on the website? I can't recall ever seeing it but that may be because I drink too much. I write this fearing someone says 'you never noticed the ten foot sign over the bar?'
My personal favorite is when people call it TTR lmao where do they get that abbreviation? The best Rob
Haha - TTR - hmmmm - got nothing ..... ... I would assume that most (including myself) must have been absent when the kindergarten teacher taught the :clappyinghappy: syllables lesson!! Too funny ... :icon_razz:
Yep. The signs, including in some places on the website actually have both T's in Temptation capitalized. Or the second T sticks up above the other letters.
Sometimes you have to let things like this go. I correct grammar, punctuation and spelling for a living, so I probably notice mistakes more than most. Yes, it can be annoying, but people are human and we do all make mistakes. I'd be out of a job if we didn't. I think abbreviating Temptation Resort to TTR is acceptable because it's a stand-alone marketing slogan (as pointed out above, the middle 't' in Temptation is capitalised). Also, I think the correct spelling for the lounge is 'Paty O'.
